Automotive Staff (S4) Field Applications Engineer Reports To: FAE Technical Leader Automotive EMEA as part of EMEA Sales Team Direct Reports: None Location: Munich preferred, Germany home office possible Role Definition We are looking for an enthusiast and dynamic Automotive Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to promote ADI’s GMSL (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) Video Serializer and Deserializer solutions. Activities include identifying and understanding customer needs and opportunities, proposing ADI SerDes solutions, and providing design-in support to European Automotive OEMs and Tier1's. You would drive innovation in Automotive by providing differentiated and winning solutions for infotainment as well as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). In your FAE role you will be working closely with Analog Devices Business Units and Systems Engineering on activities such as driving the definition process for next generation SerDes products. You will take ownership for leading the resolution of all SerDes related technical challenges to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the design. The Automotive FAE must be able to identify customer platform requirements (hardware and software) and work closely internally with Analog Devices Business Units. You will impact ADI’s automotive device roadmap and contribute to new product definitions together with ADI’s System Engineering. You will take ownership for driving the resolution of all technical issues to ensure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the design in sales process. The Automotive FAE must be able to build trust, establish and maintain strong relationships with his/her customers as well as ADI internal automotive Business Units. You would need to invest in your product and system level knowledge on an ongoing basis through the various training and development opportunities. Requirements Develop and maintain professional business relationships with customer experts at automotive OEM and Tier1 customers Listen, understand, and convey customer requirements Understand OEM system architectures and needs Drive SerDes design-in activities at assigned customers Identify and understand customer system level pain points Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFQs Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth Assist in the definition, design and development of new products and tools Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is aligned with the ADI automotive BU’s Strategy Qualifications and Skills required BS/MS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering Work experience >5 years in engineering and/or semiconductors Good understanding of automotive systems engineering and vehicle architecture System knowledge in car infotainment and ADAS systems Video Serializer and Deserializer product knowledge Technical presentation skills Strong problem-solving skills Team player Self-motivated and able to work independently Curious nature and willingness to challenge the status Quo Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills as need to collaborate with global teams Available for travel 30% Driver license required Languages: Preferred German (min. C1) and English (min.
