Controlled Technology Statement: This position may require access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). As a condition of employment, qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require the Company to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology. Role and responsibilitiesAs a Software Architect your responsibility includes: Providing technical direction for a team of highly skilled software engineers responsible for developing software that enables the ever-increasing miniaturization of semiconductor technology. Assessing technical feasibility and understanding the role of software in relation to other technical disciplines (system and function engineering, mechatronics, etc.) Verifying stability, interoperability, portability, security, or scalability of system architecture. Identifying, evaluating and planning for the dependencies both within and between parallel software efforts. Decomposing the scope of development efforts and estimating the resources necessary to execute them. Supporting and directing an Agile methodology for development of software using a combination of C, C++ and Python. Creating architecture and designs that are modular, scalable, robust and meet customer requirements. Generating, evaluating and ensuring the quality of requirements and software documentation (design documents, user documentation, etc.) Evaluating and ensuring the quality of software code and adherence to architectural standards. Contributing to test planning and supporting test development and execution activities to ensure the software meets the high-quality standards our customers expect. Evaluation of technical issues, risks, and dependencies for projects. Interfacing with customers and other stakeholders to gather a complete understanding of their requirements. Identifying skill gaps and training needs for team members. You will also participate in continuous process improvement activities aimed at ensuring the processes and tools used throughout software development lifecycle are increasing the team’s ability to develop high quality software in the most efficient manner. This includes a required focus on CI/CD (Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery). Education and experience A relevant master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with eight (8) years of relevant work experience. Relevant degrees include, but are not limited to, Computer Science Software Engineering Electrical and Computer Engineering SkillsMinimum qualifications – the hired candidate must possess all of the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for the position including: Graduate or undergraduate degree + minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience. Required technical skills: proficiency in the C or C++ language. Knowledge/hands-on experience with software/technical tools: such as ClearCase, Jira, Bash Soft skill requirements: strong English communication skills, both written and oral, ability to influence others, strong collaboration skills Preferred experience writing unit test or auto tests using Python or googletest Personal Skills Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work. Can learn and apply new information or skills. Must be able to read and interpret data, information, and documents. Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction through prioritization, quality, efficiency and professionalism. Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and high degree of accuracy. Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads. Other informationThis position is located on-site in Wilton, CT. It requires an onsite presence to attend in-person work-related events, training and meetings and to further ensure teamwork, collaboration and innovation. A flexible workplace arrangement may be available to employees working in roles conducive to remote work (up to two days a week). Role within Office - Essential Job Functions The essential job functions for this position include, but are not limited to: Work in a fast-paced office environment, including working in a standing or seated position for long periods of up to 12 hours per day, 5 days per week. Commute to ASML’s facility and report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis. Routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch. Occasionally required to move around the campus. Perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, computer keyboarding (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), filing, calculating, and use of telephone or other handheld electronic devices, continuously for up to 10 hours per day, five days per week. Have a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. May require travel (specify domestic and/or international) dependent on business needs – specify percentage of travel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
