The Position The Record to Report (R2R) Department is a global organization of over 650 experienced finance professionals working together to deliver financial services and solutions for Roche across the EMEA region. Our services cover financial management, period-end closing, capital and lease accounting, credit and receivables, manufacturing finance, and divisional reporting, ensuring compliance for 263 reporting entities in 96 countries with accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) and providing assurance of financial integrity. The General & Management Accounting Manager - EMEA is responsible for the overall execution of the cluster and for developing and holding the right capabilities, tools and standard approaches to deliver functional excellence. In addition to partnering with the End-to-End Business Process Managers for the optimization in the area of standardization, simplification, quality adherence and efficiency while role modeling the Roche Values and Operating Principles. The General & Management Accounting Manager - EMEA will be a member of the PEC (Period End Close) Product Line Leadership Team, reporting to the PEC Global Product Lead and will be expected to contribute to the development and execution of the strategic and operational goals and objectives of the business line implementing the global standardization strategy to secure and ensure alignment across regions. The position defines and directs the overall strategy for the region. Additionally, this leader will be a liaison and enabler between the other Cluster Leads, business leaders and other stakeholders with regards to the entire Period End Closing activities across RSS. As a people manager this leader will actively coach and foster the development of the Cluster members to remove siloes and to evolve with the organic development of the business to drive collaboration across Product Line clusters, as well as, across Business Lines. In this role, you will focus on: People Leading, coaching, and developing a team of Cluster Section Leads to build leadership capabilities and ensure strategic alignment across all regional country teams. Designing and implementing a regional talent strategy focused on expanding the leadership pipeline. Identifying training needs, building capabilities, and delivering coaching to achieve strategic and operational objectives. Strategy Defining regional strategic priorities derived from the global vision and translating them into execution across all markets. Driving regional business outcomes while acting as a key liaison to global leaders to align on standardization and optimization efforts. Role-modeling and promoting behaviors anchored in Roche Operating Principles and Values. Process Ensuring high-quality, accurate delivery of PEC services in full compliance with global KPIs, SLAs, and SOPs. Architecting regional process collaboration to anticipate business needs and eliminate organizational silos. Continuous Improvement Serving as a catalyst for continuous improvement by empowering Cluster Section Leads to execute strategic efficiency programs. Encouraging operational improvements tied directly to strategic objectives. Sharing best practices and learnings across Clusters, Products, and Business Lines Who you are: Experience & Education Demonstrating 8+ years of working experience in financial period-end closing and reporting. Leading teams with 5+ years of direct people management experience. Holding a University degree with a concentration in Business, Finance, or Accounting. Utilizing SAP or equivalent ERP accounting systems. Business Capabilities Architecting and optimizing end-to-end R2R processes across a multi-country region. Leveraging deep expertise in Shared Services (GBS), process management, and industry best practices. Prioritizing complex workflows effectively using strong business and technical acumen. People Capabilities Influencing complex stakeholder groups and articulating regional strategy to global leadership. Fostering a servant leadership approach grounded in Roche’s VACC commitments and a D&I mindset. Delivering key requirements and objectives proactively within tight deadlines using systems thinking Applying Agile ways of working and methodologies.
