Job Description: We are seeking a motivated and dependable Photo and Metrology Equipment Technician to join our D Shift night team. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, troubleshooting, and working in a high-technology manufacturing environment. Direct semiconductor equipment experience is not required, although experience with photo, metrology, manufacturing, automation, or other technical equipment is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, military technical specialties, or related hands-on fields are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will support the safe, reliable, and accurate operation of photolithography and metrology equipment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, tool recovery, component replacement, documentation, and collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to minimize downtime and protect product quality. Because this is a D Shift night position, the ability to work independently, stay focused during overnight hours, and communicate effectively across shifts is essential. Shift: Back Nights (D) every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, every other Saturday 7pm-7:12am Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance and basic corrective maintenance on photo and metrology equipment. Troubleshoot equipment issues using a logical, structured, and data-driven approach. Respond to equipment alarms, tool interruptions, and production-impacting issues in a timely manner. Investigate potential mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, vacuum, motion-control, optical, sensor, and software-related problems. Support equipment startups, shutdowns, qualifications, recoveries, and operational checks. Replace, clean, inspect, align, and adjust equipment components as directed. Support photolithography, wafer inspection, measurement, and metrology systems. Assist with equipment checks related to alignment, focus, overlay, critical dimension, film thickness, defect inspection, and other measurement functions. Follow standard operating procedures, maintenance instructions, schematics, drawings, and troubleshooting guides. Accurately document equipment conditions, troubleshooting actions, repairs, parts replaced, and follow-up requirements. Verify equipment operation and performance before returning tools to production. Communicate equipment status, open issues, and priorities during shift pass-downs. Escalate complex, recurring, or quality-impacting issues to experienced technicians, engineers, or leadership. Work closely with equipment engineers, process engineers, manufacturing personnel, and other technicians. Participate in training, certification programs, continuous improvement projects, and equipment reliability activities. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work area. Follow all safety, cleanroom, chemical, electrical, laser, and environmental procedures as applicable. Requirements/Qualifications: Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to performing work accurately and consistently. Ability to learn complex equipment, technical procedures, and semiconductor manufacturing processes. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow detailed procedures and recognize when an issue requires escalation. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work independently during overnight hours while maintaining communication with support teams. Willingness to work in a cleanroom, wear required personal protective equipment and complete any medical exams/physicals as required. Ability to work a D Shift night schedule, including overtime, weekends, holidays, or additional hours as business needs require. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree, technical training, coursework, or military experience in electrical, mechanical, industrial maintenance, automation, engineering technology, optics, or a related field. Experience with semiconductor manufacturing equipment or processes. Experience supporting photolithography, coat/develop, inspection, metrology, or wafer-processing equipment. Experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, motion-control, optical, robotic, or automated systems. Experience with precision equipment, laboratory instruments, microscopes, lasers, cameras, sensors, or measurement systems. Experience working with tools, test equipment, schematics, drawings, calibration procedures, or maintenance instructions. Experience in industrial maintenance, facilities, automation, manufacturing, military maintenance, laboratory operations, or a similar technical environment. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems or electronic work-order systems. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Work is performed in a semiconductor cleanroom and high-volume manufacturing environment. Must be able to wear cleanroom garments and required personal protective equipment for extended periods. May work around chemicals, process materials, electrical energy, lasers, UV sources, motion systems, vacuum systems, and other specialized equipment in accordance with established safety procedures. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and work around or inside manufacturing equipment. May occasionally lift or move equipment parts and materials within established safety limits.
