R10101024 Plant Engineer (Open) Location El Segundo, CA - HYCO Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers. The primary objective and goal of the Plant Engineer is to provide technical support to operational teams by suggesting opportunities for process improvement as well as refurbishment projects in production plants, while ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency of equipment. The incumbent ensures that projects are properly executed to meet production objectives, while promoting ALC's quality and safety objectives. Provides technical and process support to production units: Partners with teams to resolve operating challenges. Assists in plant start-up and optimization. Implements planning and control techniques. Helps identify production opportunities, develop specifications for production procedures and revise existing procedures. Guides and supports team members on company procedures and policies. Optimizes and innovates plant processes and systems: Anticipates production needs and identifies, recommends and implements changes in plant processes, equipment and systems to advance plant safety, reliability and efficiency. Analyzes new equipment. Coordinates resources effectively. Nurtures and develops individual contributions and new working methods. Monitors activity: Evaluates industrial performance. Proposes objectives based on production priorities and direction. Fosters the success of the project and the sustainability of the results obtained. Evaluates and advances performance in the following areas: safety, environment, production quality, profitability, equipment reliability, production capacity and process improvement. Plans and leads plant projects: Leads local plant projects while collaborating as a key partner for major projects managed by the project team. Navigates projects seamlessly from planning to commissioning, using project management processes. Ensures that change management processes (MOC) and documentation control are properly executed. Process improvement: Collaborates closely with their team and cross-functional teams to continuously improve work processes. Analyzes the operation of the business, identifies the causes of malfunctions and proposes appropriate corrective measures. Quality / Safety: Contributes to the definition and implementation of recommendations and procedures. Shares best practices and fosters risk management awareness. Conducts collaborative safety reviews and preventive actions to improve safety/quality. Identifies potentially risky situations and implements the necessary corrective actions. Ensures regulatory requirements and deadlines are met. Includes prevention of future risks at the design stage. Ensures plant site safety and quality. ____________________Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications:This position requires a Bachelor of Engineering degree (preferably in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering). Preferred Qualifications:1-5 years of engineering experience (preferably in an industrial plant setting). The annual base salary range for this position in California is $110,000.00.
