Job Description: Join Microchip’s Field Applications Engineering team and get to work with customers in Italy, Greece and Turkey. Your focus will be on driving design wins to revenue at selected customer projects, by providing in-depth engineering support to end customer requirements on general embedded design for wired connectivity. Based at our office in Padova (preferred) or Legnano (MI), you will report to the FAE group leader in Italy. If you enjoy working in an international environment, this role is for you. This position will expose you to various business units within the company globally and will allow you to get extremely involved with strategic and focus customers, Microchip sales, application engineering teams as well as channel partners throughout the EMEA region. Key responsibilities Support Sales Team in new opportunity identifications, hold discussions with Customer's System Architects and R&D Teams, understand their needs and propose solutions based on Microchip product offerings that can solve their challenges and help them differentiate from their competitors. Once the opportunities are secured, you will work closely with the Customer's R&D Team to assist them in the design phase and ensure their design proceeds smoothly addressing and anticipating any issues or concerns. If needed you will involve the specific Business Unit Application department for further support. Adapt existing reference designs to address specific customer needs. Your technical support will be mainly focused on products dedicated to wired communication and therefore you will also be a Member of the Wired Networking Function Group where you will have the opportunity to learn in details the Microchip offer for these applications. Deliver/facilitate customer technical training classes in collaboration with the Regional Training Centre organization. Support other field application engineers in winning designs in their specialist technology area. Help with relevant initiative to boost grow areas applications – 5G, data centers, autonomous driving, the Internet of Things, electric vehicles, and artificial intelligence and machine learning. Requirements/Qualifications: BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 3 years of professional experience in embedded systems design. Strong knowledge of communication protocols (physical and application layers, i.e. TCP/IP). Knowledge about wired communications products like: HW, security standards, protocol stacks (industrial/automotive), MCU/MPU wired communication peripherals and drivers (under bare metal, RTOs, Zephyr, Linux environments)- to effectively support clients Ability to work across different teams and departments Ability to develop innovative solutions to customers challenges Willingness to travel to the USA and other countries in Europe for training and business needs. Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken Valid driving license. Annual Salary Range for this job which could be performed in Italy is: €47,200 - €52,168* * The compensation range displayed in this posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for this position. Within this range, individual pay is determined by job related skills, experience, and relevant education, training. As part of our total compensation approach, the final offer may include additional pay components and benefits.
