About the role: In this senior role, you will play a pivotal role in leading integrated Communications & Public Affairs (CPA) to protect and enhance J&J reputation and support business priorities in France. You will provide strategic counsel to the French market, align and prioritize CPA resources against the highest-value commercial and reputational opportunities, and lead the local CPA team as part of one integrated global, regional and market system. You will hold a key leadership position within the J&J IM France Leadership Team and the Europe Middle East Africa (EMEA) CPA Leadership Team. You will report to the Vice President J&J IM CPA EMEA, and partner directly with the IM General Manager in France. Key Responsibilities and Impact: Protect and enhance J&J reputation: Co-create and lead the implementation of one integrated CPA strategy aligned with the French market business objectives. Oversee J&J IM’s digital presence in France, activating the global digital and social channel model in alignment with local regulations and business goals, and developing locally relevant content and engagement plans. Prioritize and drive local high-impact earned and paid media engagement, working in close collaboration with the regional and global CPA teams, and leveraging centralized content and tools. Manage all local media requests, issues and crisis response with relevant local, regional and global teams. Ensure cross-sector reputational consistency, alignment and communications, collaborating with J&J MedTech France team. Advance, protect, and enhance J&J priority Therapeutic Areas portfolio visibility: Set market CPA priorities, provide strategic direction and market insights to co-create global Therapeutic Areas CPA strategies for Oncology, Immunology and Neuroscience, supporting must-win launches and growth brands. Oversee local end-to-end execution of integrated, multi-channel communications plans (media, social/digital, congress, campaigns, etc.) for pre-launch, launch, post-launch, data and regulatory milestones, using shared global messaging and assets with appropriate local adaptation and collaboration with local Therapeutic Areas / Business Units' leaders, Market Access, Government Affairs & Policy, and Patient Engagement & Advocacy. Support access and policy priorities, improving patient access to innovative medicines: Lead local strategic planning and activation of the J&J IM Public Affairs strategy across Therapeutic Areas and above-brand, supporting key policy and access priorities in partnership with local Market Access and Government Affairs & Policy, and EMEA/global Public Affairs colleagues. Help communicate J&J’s positions to key opinion leaders and the broader public in France, by driving high-impact stakeholder and media activation and localizing strategic global messaging to advance access and policy objectives, in partnership with local, regional and global Government Affairs & Policy and Market Access teams. Provide targeted high-impact executive and internal communications: Provide strategic communications counsel and support to the France Managing Director for priority enterprise, business and reputational moments. Set strategy, governance and priorities for high-priority, market-wide employee engagement ensuring leaders and employees are informed, engaged and equipped to implement the business strategy and increase performance. Co-lead with the business identified top tier leadership events, including the annual Kick Off meeting and market-wide Town Hall with a focus on concept and content development. Transition local Therapeutic Areas and functions’ internal communications, change communications and event execution to self-service, business-owned or approved external support models in alignment with the global CPA operating model. Learn from Research and Insights: Use business, stakeholder, reputational and competitive intelligence to shape priorities, surface risks and opportunities early, and inform global strategy to drive competitiveness in France. Implement and track standardized metrics aligned with global CPA to assess and monitor performance and help refine strategy and resource allocation. Leadership Responsibilities: Lead, coach and develop the France CPA team, Act as a thought partner to global CPA Therapeutic Areas and CPA HUB leaders, contributing local insights and ideas to co-create strategy, sharing centralized resources and ensuring local adoption of common plans, materials, tools and governance. Member of the global IM CPA leadership community. As a member of the CPA EMEA Leadership Team, lead initiatives supporting key cross-regional priorities including talent, strategy and transformation, and model the new ways of working: Own the Outcome, Act as ONE Team, Know the Business/Drive the Business, Learn & Evolve, and Simplify to Amplify. Member of J&J IM France Leadership Team. Skills & Experience Required: Proven experience (at least 15 years) in a similar role, with successful experience in corporate affairs in the pharmaceutical (preferred) or healthcare industry Strong track record launching innovative medicines, leading public affairs, media engagement, integrated external communications and global-to-local strategy activation, as well as managing issues. Strong leadership and excellent interpersonal skills, capable of operating at senior level with high strategic thinking, creating and maintaining relationships with a variety of stakeholders and mobilizing teams around ambitious and innovative projects Accomplished team and people leader, committed to people development and growth Demonstrated ability to thrive in an evolving matrix organization, prioritize with a J&J-first mindset, influence across global, regional and market teams, and manage resources flexibly against the highest-impact opportunities. University degree (preferred communications, journalism, political science, or a related field). A Master's degree would be an advantage.
