The primary purpose of the role is to deliver sustainable sales growth by developing existing accounts, identifying and converting new business opportunities, and providing high-quality clinical, technical and commercial support to customers. You will be highly motivated, commercially focused and confident working with surgeons, theatre teams, procurement stakeholders and other key decision-makers. You will combine effective territory planning with hands-on product demonstrations, evaluations and in-theatre support. Job DescriptionPurpose of the RoleTo achieve quarterly and annual sales plans by building lasting customer partnerships, increasing the use of the surgical portfolio and developing new business across NHS and private healthcare accounts. The role will focus on laparoscopy, colorectal surgery, upper GI and general surgery, with responsibility for supporting customers throughout the sales and product adoption process. Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of sales performance across the territory, presenting and demonstrating products while proactively identifying and converting new business opportunities. Provide clinical support to customers using devices and technologies across laparoscopy, colorectal surgery and robotic surgery. Develop strong, long-term relationships with surgeons, theatre teams, procurement contacts and other key stakeholders. Achieve agreed quarterly and annual sales plans through effective account management, pipeline development and territory execution. Assist customers with clinical, technical and commercial enquiries, providing a responsive and professional service. Create and implement territory business plans, assessing client needs, market potential and opportunities for growth. Collect, analyse and present market intelligence, customer insight and competitor information. Provide feedback on customer needs, promotional programmes and market changes, offering ideas to improve product and company performance. Implement new product launches and wider corporate activities within the territory. Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, evaluations and training to support customer adoption. Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records and activity updates using the relevant business systems. Attend relevant conferences, exhibitions, educational events and customer meetings. Take responsibility for continuous professional development, including maintaining detailed product, procedural and market knowledge. Role RequirementsEssential: 3-5 years’ medical device sales experience, ideally within surgical sales. Experience selling into operating theatres and working effectively with clinical and commercial stakeholders. A clinical or medical device sales background. Proven ability to develop new business and manage accounts against sales targets. Strong drive, planning, organisation and territory management skills. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently, use initiative and manage a field-based territory effectively. Willingness to travel within the UK. A full, clean UK driving licence. Desirable: Experience selling or clinically supporting products used in laparoscopy, colorectal surgery, upper GI, general or robotic surgery. Existing relationships with laparoscopic, colorectal, upper GI, general or robotic surgeons and wider operating theatre teams. Experience supporting product demonstrations, evaluations, training or in-theatre adoption of surgical technologies. Knowledge of NHS and private hospital buying pathways and procurement processes.
