The primary responsibility is executing technical data management, CAD dataset provisioning (Enovia, CATIA V5), light viewer conversions, and DMU quality assurance checks to ensure alignment with Airbus ways of working. Additionally, this role leverages programming and digital engineering tools (Python, Google Workspace scripts, and AI toolsets) to automate repetitive engineering processes, optimize data workflows, and support continuous tool integration. Your working environment: The Engineering Center in Mobile, Alabama houses hundreds of Airbus engineers who assist in the design and development of Airbus commercial aircraft cabins, including aftermarket upgrades, reconfigurations and services of all product types across the globe. Your challenges: Support the AS-IS Business Architecture testing within the PLM system to identify required modifications for Airbus Ways of Working (WoW). Assist in testing key capabilities across 3Dx SaaS, CAD Modeler Coexistence (CV5 PB + CV6), 3Dx Enovia Maturity on Release Process, and Multi-View Management (PBS). Gather inputs and organize technical data required for High-Level Design Dossiers (HLDD) and G3/G4 gate preparations. A220 DMU Data Provisioning & Conversion: Extract native DMU design data on demand from source systems (Enovia, CATIA V5 R21). Prepare and convert CAD datasets into JT, SPS, and CGR light viewer formats for platforms like Novo Desk and Laurentides. Execute routine data transfer operations across manual and semi-automated workflows (utilizing PLMBI within the A220 Beluga enclave). DMU Quality Assurance & StepX (A220 Stretch) Support: Perform quality checks comparing "New Method" vs. "Old DMU" data to identify gaps, coordinating with design teams to resolve structural or geometry inconsistencies. Conduct completeness checks for the Configured DMU (cDMU) team (comparing Best-So-Far vs. cDMU vs. Native data). Provide entry-level design and setup support for new aircraft variant environments, including the A220 Stretch (StepX) program. Process Automation & Scripting: Apply basic proficiency in Python to assist with automating repetitive design tasks, running dataset checks, generating reports, and parsing technical data. Workflow & Collaboration Tools: Utilize Google Apps Scripts and Google Workspace features (Sheets, Docs, Drive) to streamline team workflows, consolidate project data, and support dashboard reporting. Data Extraction & Web Tools: Utilize web automation tools (such as Selenium) to assist in extracting design data and interacting with internal applications or supplier portals. AI & Digital Engineering Adoption: Utilize digital toolsets and AI ecosystem applications (including Gemini tools and Workspace integrations) to enhance daily research, drafting, and technical problem-solving. Additional Responsibilities: Digital Engineering & Automation Process Automation & Scripting: Apply technical proficiency in Python (including libraries like Pandas) to automate complex engineering workflows, data analysis, and report generation. Workflow Optimization: Leverage Google Workspace tools (including Apps Script) and AI tools (such as Google Gemini) to streamline project management, technical research, and team productivity. Data Extraction: Utilize web automation tools (e.g., Selenium) to extract and process technical data from internal databases and supplier portals. Other duties as assigned: Perform other technical, administrative, or program support duties as assigned. Your boarding pass: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Design, Product Design, or Sustainable Technology. 3 to 5 years total experience US citizenship is required Candidates must have strong proficiency using Google Workspace / G Suite Strong 3D CAD software experience (CATIA V5). Must have the ability to write reports, specifications, work statements, requirements, and other technical documents. Demonstrate flexibility regarding the changing working environment and proactive collaboration with teams. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and technical writing skills. Ability to present information and answer questions related to produced documentation 3D CAD Systems: Hands-on experience with 3D CAD modeling software (CATIA V5). Productivity & Collaboration Suites: Strong capability and proficiency in Google Workspace / G Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, Slides) and Microsoft Office applications. Core Technical Tools: Ability to quickly learn, adapt to, and adopt new software tools, digital engineering environments, and internal applications as required. Ability to independently develop, communicate and recommend changes to processes and procedures. Ability to direct and facilitate Problem Solving activities and track progress to completion. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or Minor in Engineering (Mechanical, Aero, Civil) or Sustainable Technology Direct experience with Airbus digital tools, PLM environments (3Dx Enovia, CATIA V5, TAKSY, PASS-SSI), or DMU data management. Background in 3D modeling, structural component prototyping, and part analysis. Hands-on scripting capability using Python (including libraries like Pandas), VBA, or CAD macros. Experience with Airbus cabin, cargo, or structural engineering workflows. French, German, or Spanish language skills are a plus. PLM & DMU Platforms: Direct experience with Airbus digital toolsets, PDM/PLM systems (3Dx Enovia, TAKSY, PASS-SSI), and light viewer/DMU conversion tools (JT, SPS, CGR, Novo Desk, Laurentides). Programming & Automation Tools: Working knowledge or scripting capability in Python (including data libraries like Pandas), Google Apps Script, and web automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium).
