Job Description: Join us to be part of the new Airbus UpNext strategic demonstrator paving the future of Aircraft Connectivity! This demonstrator will accelerate the development of new technologies to bring tangible learnings to the business. This position is based in Toulouse (Saint Martin), and it comes with a limited contract (CDI-C) linked to the deliverable of the demonstrator ( estimated end date 29 February 2028), starting ASAP Mission: As the Embedded and Application Software Development Engineer, you will be a hands-on technical team member, responsible to develop software applications and supporting embedded system integration. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include: Definition and development: Proven expertise in full-stack software development, utilizing modern web technologies and frameworks for connecting and processing diverse data streams. API Integration: Strong ability to consume APIs and collaborate to define efficient data payloads and API contracts. Database: Knowledge of multiple database and data stream solutions, proven experience managing high-frequency telemetry data streams on the application side. Intermittent Connectivity Strategies: Experience designing application logic that handles offline modes gracefully, utilizing local caching and data-syncing strategies when connectivity drops or switches networks. Modern Tooling: Familiarity with AI-powered coding solutions (Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate development, improve code quality, readability and documentation. Hardware/Software Integration: Ensure that all on-board equipment, including WAPs and servers, are correctly configured and properly interfaced with the aircraft bus. Connectivity: Apply knowledge of networking (e.g., NAT, IPTables, DNS) to connect and monitor communications between on-premises applications and cloud infrastructure (using technologies like VPN tunneling and IPSec). IoT Ecosystem: Integrate smart assets and sensors. Your boarding pass What you bring: Expertise in SW and Application development.
