The Application Specialist – Microscopy is responsible for providing deep application expertise across the customer journey, from understanding scientific and technical requirements to designing, demonstrating, implementing, and optimizing microscopy workflows and solutions. This role partners closely with customers, sales teams, channel partners, service, marketing, product management, and technical teams to translate customer needs into practical, feasible, and high-impact microscopy applications aligned with Leica Microsystems’ product capabilities and manufacturer specifications. This position reports to the Sales Manager and is part of the SEA Commercial Team located in Singapore and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Assess customer scientific, technical, and workflow requirements across the pre-sales and post-sales process, and identify microscopy applications where Leica Microsystems products, technologies, and solutions can address customer needs. Partner with customers, sales teams, channel partners, service, marketing, product management, and technical teams to evaluate application requirements, technical feasibility, solution fit, and recommended workflows. Recommend appropriate microscopy products, configurations, workflows, and integrated solutions aligned with manufacturer specifications, intended product capabilities, and customer application objectives. Prepare product, application, solution, design, and implementation specifications that translate customer requirements into practical technical approaches for successful adoption and optimization. Plan and deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities, application workshops, technical evaluations, sample preparation, image or data acquisition, analysis workflows, and customer-specific use cases. Provide product and application training, technical consultation, and troubleshooting support to customers, sales teams, channel partners, and internal stakeholders. Capture customer feedback, application insights, market developments, and competitive intelligence to support continuous improvement, future solution development, customer success, and commercial growth. The essential requirements of the job include: Tertiary qualification in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Biomedical Engineering, Microscopy, Imaging, or a related scientific or technical discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in an application specialist, field application, technical product support, scientific support, or customer-facing microscopy/imaging role. Strong understanding of microscopy workflows, imaging techniques, sample preparation, image acquisition, analysis methods, and application optimization. Ability to assess customer requirements, translate scientific and workflow needs into technical solutions, and conduct product demonstrations, application workshops, proof-of-concept activities, trainings, and technical evaluations. Excellent communication, presentation, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, sales teams, channel partners, service teams, and internal stakeholders.
