The Senior Engineering Technician is responsible for technical support of all laboratory instrumentation and associated systems. This includes reviewing and working with engineers on development of test procedures. This is an onsite role based in New Port Richey, FL and reports to the Engineering Manager, Laboratory Services. The work schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Overtime and flexible scheduling is routine. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required. Any offer of employment is contingent upon Pall obtaining the necessary employment visa and export authorization, including, if required, an export license from the applicable U.S. government agency. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Review job order, relevant (SDS) (Safety Data Sheet), fully understand requirements in accordance with laboratory SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and select appropriate test equipment and execute project. Assure all calculations (utilizing basic mathematics and statistics) are performed correctly. Monitor test performance, test equipment, and data acquisition, apply technical training, knowledge, and experience in analyzing, investigating, and resolving assigned test related problems recommend solutions with quality results. Sets-up and tests complete units and subassemblies under operational conditions. This includes performing flow/pressure/temperature/ vibration, endurance, and impulse testing and electrical support (i.e., make cables to support projects) to support projects other testing of hydraulic manifolds, liquid filters, and air products. Perform analytical testing on research and development qualification projects and outside customer projects. Perform analysis work related to microscopy, materials science, and chemistry. Typical projects include the analysis of fluid samples and filter elements, filterability testing fluid properties testing, etc. The essential requirements of the job include: High school diploma or equivalent plus five (5) years of work experience in qualification testing of multiple aerospace products, or Associates degree (in Aerospace Maintenance, Electrical, Power Plant, Petroleum Repair) from an accredited technical college/university. Experience working with and knowledge of air and fluid mechanical systems and electronic controls, process automation and data acquisition. • Ability to read complicated technical specifications and procedures to identify issues and problems, generate solutions, and choose appropriate alternatives using root cause analysis where problems are more complex. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Data Acquisition and control (National Instruments Labview preferred). Knowledge of and experience with mechanical engineering principles to design and fabricate fixtures and set-ups for safe use in the laboratory.
