Job description

JOB PURPOSE Managing and building a Quality organization with required infrastructure to deliver best-in-class Products and lead transformative change efforts within the organization. Leading the deployment of Quality Assurance initiatives, improving overall effectiveness of the organization, and cooperating with all key stakeholders within Sandvik Local / Global guidelines to achieve the performance targets set for the organization. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Direct and coordinate the company’s Quality Assurance program, including the implementation of internal and external policies / standards. Responsible to lead overall Quality Assurance activities and coordinate with Product Areas (Home Bases) / Production Units in regard to Quality Management. Ensure and improve the overall quality of products manufactured in the foundry as per global guidelines / requirement. Ensure the product non-conformance and Customer Complaints are recorded, investigated for product performance, specifications, and reliability. Develop, recommend and monitor corrective actions and validate effectiveness of the same. Closely collaborate with Sourcing to ensure that product / process quality, technical and business requirements are defined for supplier selection. Ensure continuous monitoring of supplier quality performance and validation of measurements, supplier part investigation including effective root cause analysis utilizing quality tools, implementation of effective corrective actions and effectiveness of same. Collaborate with Product Areas (Home Bases), Production units and Global Operation Quality team to ensure sharing and implementation of best practices, execution of continues improvements, and implementation of the same. Responsible for ensuring the employees are trained, understand and follow Sandvik QEHS practices and adhere to established quality standards and safety guidelines. Provide annual budgetary estimates including manpower, assets, equipment etc; manage and control expenses within budget. Support in implementation of Audit (Internal and external) program for business unit. Establishes individual and departmental goals. Develop and implement tracking programs to monitor progress of departmental goals and provide trend analysis to management. In individual instances, he or she supports standalone projects which are executed within the context of quality task force. Knowledge of Quality standards ISO 9001 and QMS terminologies is must. EDUCATION Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mech./ Production/ Metallurgy ) with relevant experience & exposure in this field.
