Position Summary: This position is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities, Utilities and Environmental organization, assuring the robustness, reliability and availability of the equipment, facilities and systems required to meet production requirements and business plans. Beyond sustaining operations, this position owns the strategy and is accountable for its execution to transform the site engineering organization toward the future — setting and delivering a multi-year digital vision and maturity roadmap that positions Manatí as a network reference site. This includes building an advanced-manufacturing ecosystem of connected assets (IoT/condition monitoring, closed-loop analytics and digital twins of critical equipment and utilities), applying advanced data analytics and artificial intelligence to engineering and reliability outcomes, establishing predictive and reliability-centered maintenance and asset-lifecycle management, and leading the site energy, sustainability and decarbonization agenda for utilities and facilities. As the engineering business owner of digital use cases, the incumbent partners with Business Insights & Technology (BI&T). The incumbent leads the organizational change management and workforce upskilling/reskilling required to adopt these new ways of working in partnership with the learning organization business partners. Responsibilities: Provides leadership and support to the engineering, maintenance, capital projects, and utilities organization (e.g., optimize product quality; reduce cost; maintain equipment and facilities; select and implement new equipment and technologies; provide upgrades and modifications to facilities and support systems; provide capacity planning; create cost-reduction programs, including cycle-time reductions and yield improvement in partnership with OPEX and Finance). Assures Manufacturing Operations have the equipment, facilities and systems required to meet production requirements at the highest possible quality and competitive cost. Provides guidance, support and implements systems for plant commissioning efforts and assures compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry trends. Leads, motivates, mentors and develops team members to meet Plant and Company goals and objectives. Assures effective integration of plans and resources to achieve effective, timely project-support activities across the site within budget, using proper project-management tools. Develops team members based on technical and leadership development needs; owns succession plans based on business and individual needs. Owns and is accountable for executing the site engineering digital transformation strategy and roadmap, progressing the organization along the digital-plant maturity model; monitors execution, milestones and benefits realization through the engineering leadership team. Establishes reliability as a core site capability — reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), FMEA-based asset criticality, predictive and condition-based (IoT) maintenance, and asset-lifecycle management — to maximize availability (OEE/MTBF/MTTR) and lower total cost of ownership. Champions the application of advanced data analytics, artificial intelligence and digital twins to engineering and reliability outcomes (e.g., predictive maintenance, energy optimization, equipment-related deviation and downtime reduction), acting as engineering business owner and partnering with BI&T for system delivery, CSV and cybersecurity. Owns the site energy management, sustainability and decarbonization strategy for utilities and facilities, aligning site initiatives with corporate sustainability commitments (executed through the Facilities/Utilities organization). Leads organizational change management and a workforce digital-capability strategy (data literacy, upskilling/reskilling, new ways of working) to overcome adoption barriers and embed a data-driven engineering culture; may establish an engineering digital Center of Excellence. Establishes the engineering performance / KPI framework and governance required to make data-driven decisions and hold the organization accountable for safety, quality, reliability, cost and delivery results; represents the site in the network and external benchmarking (e.g., ISPE / FOYA). Performs other work-related activities, as required Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Engineering (advanced degree preferred). Ten 10 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing industry with five (5) years of managerial experience In-depth knowledge of several manufacturing and engineering technology transfer, Total Quality Management and continuous improvement. Knowledge in the area of Process Engineering, Project Planning, new product and technology transfer. High level of leadership and management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish. Future oriented, can create competitive and break through strategies and plans. Committed to continuous improvement. Compensation Overview: Manati - PR - US: $164,700 - $199,573 The starting pay range(s) listed above is for full-time employees (FTE). You may also be eligible for additional discretionary incentive cash and stock opportunities. We determine starting pay thoughtfully – carefully considering the nature of the role, required skills, work location, schedule and the knowledge and experience you bring. Final compensation is guided by pay equity principles and applicable employment laws. Compensation programs are reviewed on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted over time to reflect evolving market factors, and individual, team or Company performance. U.S.-based exempt employees are eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO), which provides paid time off without a set accrual limit, subject to manager approval, along with 11 paid company holidays each year. Non-exempt employees, RayzeBio employees, and employees located in Puerto Rico receive 160 hours of paid vacation annually for new hires (subject to manager approval), 11 paid company holidays, and 3 optional holidays.
