This is a high-impact opportunity for a finance professional who wants to help build the financial foundation of a growing, innovation-led business—partnering directly with R&D leaders, shaping scalable processes, and translating breakthrough development programs into clear business insights.The Financial Analyst will be a trusted finance partner to the R&D organization and the Office of the CFO, supporting the financial strategy behind complex development programs, ARPA-H grant administration, and milestone-based innovation investments. This role will provide budgeting, forecasting, reporting, governance, and business analysis that help leaders make informed decisions across actuals, forecast, budget, cost share, intangible development, and grant-funded activities. As the organization evolves from an R&D-focused environment toward commercialization, this position will play a visible role in building scalable finance processes, strengthening controls, supporting milestone execution, and providing commercial readiness insights related to cost structure, resource planning, profitability, intangible asset development, and long-term operational performance. Lead R&D project controlling activities, including budget development, forecasting, variance analysis, cost tracking, and financial commentary for R&D programs. Administer ARPA-H grant financial processes, including milestone reporting, cost share tracking, WBS and cost object governance, time-reporting support, documentation retention, and audit readiness. Partner cross-functionally with R&D, project management, finance, procurement, and external collaborators to ensure grant-funded activities are properly planned, monitored, reported, and controlled. Support month-end close and financial reporting activities, including accruals, settlements, journal entry support, account reviews, dashboards, and executive summaries covering actuals, forecast, budget, risks, and milestone status. Develop financial models that support the transition from R&D to Commercial, including cost structure analysis, scenario planning, margin modeling, business model scaling, and commercial readiness dashboards. Support intangible development tracking and capitalization analysis by partnering with Finance, R&D, Tax, and Accounting to evaluate project milestones, eligible costs, technical feasibility documentation, and capitalization readiness. Assist with impairment modeling and related financial analysis, including cash flow assumptions, sensitivity analysis, risk indicators, and management reporting for development programs and intangible assets. Support audit, tax, government funding, and compliance requests by maintaining accurate records, timely financial evidence, and clear process documentation. Bring curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement thinking to strengthen financial controls, streamline processes, and improve operational finance support as the business grows in scope and complexity. ​What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required; advanced degree or professional certification preferred. 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, controlling, FP&A, project finance, or grant administration preferred. Experience supporting R&D, engineering, product development, or technology-focused organizations strongly preferred. Ability to turn complex financial data into concise, actionable insights for business leaders, including variance analysis, trend analysis, scenario modeling, and executive-level commentary. Strong understanding of project accounting, WBS structures, cost center reporting, accruals, month-end close, and financial controls. Experience with grant administration, government-funded programs, milestone-based contracts, or audit-supported financial reporting is a plus. Exposure to intangible asset development, capitalization assessments, impairment modeling, discounted cash flow analysis, or valuation-related finance work is preferred. Commercial finance experience, including order-to-cash, revenue, gross profit, margin analysis, or business model scaling, is beneficial as the organization prepares for commercialization. Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills required; experience with SAP, dashboards, digital planning tools, or business intelligence platforms preferred. Excellent communication, collaboration, organization, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across Finance, R&D, Operations, Procurement, and external partners. The base pay range for this position is: $102,600 - $141,075 Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
