Job description

Participates in the secure design, build, and testing of software products through the use of systematic tests. Contributes to the design and build of test frameworks and utilities needed to make the automation easier. Develops, modifies, and executes software design plans, automated scripts, and programs for quality assurance. Plays an integral part in CI/CD, facilitates defining quality gates, and ensures quality at every stage in CI/CD. Works closely with product managers and development teams in giving feedback on software requirements, planning the design execution, and resolving problems. Analyzes and writes quality standards and procedures. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Provides risk assessment of product functionality. What You’ll Do: • Develops tests, automation solutions, and architectural decisions for sophisticated, defined platforms, infrastructure, or products with a focus on security, scalability, and high-performance • May lead projects from end-to-end through delegation, review, and getting results holistically • Initiates and drives solutions for closed loop corrective actions for a portfolio of products • Demonstrates solid understanding and knowledge in multiple domains • Writes functional clean code and unit tests with no guidance • Maintains and enhances solutions by fixing complicated errors, raising risks and escalating issues where necessary • Identifies immediate and larger scope problems through thorough code reviews • Tests and reviews code to optimize scale, velocity, and reliability of deliverables • Contributes to threat modeling of a feature • Designs and plans quality assurance across various environments with thorough understanding of product expectations and business needs • Conducts risk-based evaluation of non-feature characteristics of a product • Provides recommendations to testing plans based on standard methodologies (e.g., shifting left) to ensure early quality implementation • Applies in-depth understanding of product design/implementation to advise junior team members on the wider ramifications of change across all products • Works with development teams to define testing standard methodologies and propose new frameworks for testing different aspects of the product (e.g., performance, chaos, stability, load, and loss) • Performs test cases and test plans for major projects, and coordinates within group for on-time completion • Reports issues/findings to developers, product managers, or other teams along with gaps in testing resources, root cause analysis, and viable software solutions • Collaborates with product management and product development to communicate design bugs and identify potential solutions; integrates CI/CD methodologies into all processes • Develops innovative solutions that tackle complex technical design flaws and advocates for the inclusion of additional innovation in future designs • Identifies and socializes opportunities for improvements across the broader quality assurance rigor • Reviews test plans and customer-facing documentation • Synthesizes key messages and communicates testing insights to stakeholders • Follows defined procedures and standard methodologies for document review • Creates, collects, interprets, and addresses dashboard metrics, and communicates key findings with teams • Mentors peers or more junior team members • Assists other engineers through code reviews, documentation, and technical guidance • Experienced professional using standard processes and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services • Works independently, but receives guidance and direction from leader then determines best approach to accomplish work • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience • Develops relationship with peer stakeholders within and across teams and builds productive working relationships Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelors + 5 years of related experience or Masters + 3 years of related experience or PhD + 0 years of related experience • Requires working knowledge and expanded conceptual knowledge in primary technical job family and broadens capabilities • Has worked with and is proficient with current technologies Preferred Qualifications Varies based on the team and business needs | Preferred Qualifications are desired education, experience, and skills that are in addition to Minimum Qualifications.
