This Position reports to: Senior Legal Counsel Your role and responsibilities As Senior Legal Counsel in ABB Robotics Sweden and Nordic countries cluster lead, you will provide expert legal guidance to ensure that the company operates in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards within your country. Acting as a trusted advisor, you will safeguard the company’s interests, mitigate legal risks, and foster a culture of integrity while enabling positive business outcomes. You will also work closely and collaborate with two of the key functions in Robotics R&D and Procurement. Key Responsibilities: Advise on local legal topics providing expert legal guidance to the team and other stakeholders on various legal issues, including contract negotiation and risk management. Lead end-to-end accountability for Legal & Integrity fiduciary duties, corporate governance, and compliance for all Nordics cluster legal entities (Sweden, Norway, Finland and Danmark), including corporate secretarial services and regulatory filings. Facilitate accurate risk assessments by delivering clear recommendations and approvals. Develop a strong understanding of the company’s business drivers and industry landscape to address key legal and commercial challenges. Lead high-exposure legal matters, including managing interactions with authorities and overseeing sensitive or high-value litigations. Support corporate governance activities such as board meetings, resolutions, and statutory filings to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Provide legal advice on strategic alliances, partner selection, joint ventures, and other growth and commercialization initiatives. Keep abreast of legislative changes and ensure timely communication of relevant updates to stakeholders. Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, agile legal team operating across multiple territories. Demonstrate commitment to supporting business operations in jurisdictions where dedicated legal resources are not available (e.g., Norway, Finland and Denmark). Qualifications Degree from a reputed law University and Sweden qualified lawyer with 7–12 years of professional experience in corporate/commercial law, gained in multinational corporate environments or top-tier law firms. Proven ability to manage fiduciary responsibilities, corporate governance, and operate effectively within a decentralized organization. Proven track record of advising senior business stakeholders and regulators in an international context. Familiarity with finance, treasury, risk management/insurance, and preferred experience in IP, R&D and procurement-related legal matters. Previous experience in Robotics sector and as a tech lawyer is preferred but not required. Demonstrated ability to lead complex legal matters with significant business exposure. Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset to effectively communicate and coordinate complex issues and projects with diverse levels of management and employees. Commercially minded, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented, with a focus on enabling business growth while managing legal risk.
