Job Function: Supply Chain Engineering Job Sub Function: Repair & Maintenance Engineering Job Category: Scientific/Technology All Job Posting Locations: Geel, Antwerp, Belgium Job Description: J&J IM is recruiting for a Facility Coordinator within the E&PS department, reporting to the Senior Site Facilities Manager IMSC and to be based in Geel, Belgium. The Engineering & Property Services (E&PS) department is the backbone of our critical infrastructure, leading all aspects of the design, operation, and maintenance of buildings, HVAC systems, utilities, and installations across our sites in Belgium. From centralized production and distribution systems to chemical and pharmaceutical production and R&D facilities. Our mission at E&PS is to safely manage the infrastructure lifecycle with reliability, sustainability, and efficiency. Duties and responsibilities: Champion safety, quality and compliance by ensuring adherence to EH&S, GMP/GxP and company requirements and by supporting audits, inspections, documentation and reporting. Be the trusted, customer-focused point of contact for assigned buildings and infrastructure, internal customers and external partners, ensuring clear follow-up of requests, notifications and priorities. Coordinate day-to-day facility activities and bring together the facility team, supervisors, maintenance and project teams, internal stakeholders, and external hard and soft services providers. Act as the key contact for soft services, manage the contractor area and coordinate/optimize on-site logistical processes, including space use, buildings, parking areas and road closures. Oversee preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance for buildings, technical installations and utilities, helping safeguard the availability of critical infrastructure. Manage and prioritise work orders in the maintenance management system, coordinate technical interventions and minor works, and drive the follow-up of breakdowns, deviations and improvement actions. Take proactive ownership of alarms, risks and improvement opportunities, involving the right experts at the right time and supporting business continuity and risk management. Build strong working relationships with Operations, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain and external partners, and use KPI reporting to support informed decisions and continuous improvement. Partner closely with the Facility Manager and colleagues across the campus and logistics team to coordinate contractor management and support future investment projects. Help maintain a safe, orderly and inspection-ready environment for colleagues, customers and contractors. Requirements A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline, facility management or a comparable field—or equivalent relevant experience. Relevant experience in facilities, maintenance, utilities or technical services. Experience in a pharmaceutical, manufacturing or other regulated industrial environment is a strong advantage. Sound knowledge of technical installations, building management and maintenance processes, combined with confidence using digital tools. A clear, respectful communication style and a genuine service mindset, enabling you to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement in setting priorities and the ability to follow multiple actions through with accuracy. A proactive, hands-on approach: you work independently, take initiative, think in solutions and remain composed when priorities shift. A strong commitment to safety, quality and compliance, together with an understanding of the expectations of a regulated environment. Professional fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
