Join us and help run what runs the world. This position reports to: Service Team Leader __ As a Mechanical Site Supervisor, you will represent ABB at customer sites in the mining industry. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all mechanical work related to the installation and maintenance of ABB Gearless Mill Drives (GMD). This includes leading on-site teams, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and acting as the key technical liaison between ABB and the customer. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid This role is contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland. Your responsibilities Supervise mechanical maintenance and installation activities for GMD at customer sites. Coordinate mechanical work based on project scope, site conditions, and available resources. Enforce ABB’s EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) policies and conduct safety briefings before work begins and guide and support local mechanics, welders, and helpers in executing tasks safely and efficiently. Ensure all work is performed according to the latest technical documentation and ABB quality standards. Additionally, identify and report technical discrepancies in drawings or documentation. Participate in site meetings with customers, contractors, and ABB teams as well as prepare clear and accurate service and installation reports. Qualifications for the role Completed apprenticeship as an industrial or mechanical technician/engineer. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical site work, preferably in mining, heavy industry or power plants. Strong technical understanding of mechanical systems; knowledge of ABB GMD systems is an advantage. Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus. Willingness to travel globally on short notice, including weekends and public holidays. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and instructions in English. Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills.
