Introduction to the JobAs a Design Engineer: Optical Sensor System - Integrated Optics, you will help develop advanced optical technologies used in ASML lithography systems. These systems enable the production of faster, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips that power everyday technologies around the world. Based in Wilton, Connecticut, this role combines optical design, photonic integration, simulation, testing, and system validation. As a Design Engineer: Optical Sensor System - Integrated Optics, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to develop measurement and sensing solutions that support the future of semiconductor manufacturing. Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a Design Engineer: Optical Sensor System - Integrated Optics, you will contribute to the design, analysis, testing, and validation of advanced optical sensing technologies. You will work in laboratory environments and on full-scale systems while collaborating with engineers and researchers across multiple disciplines. You will: Design and evaluate integrated optical and photonic sensor solutions. Perform optical simulations and analyze system performance data. Develop and maintain test software using MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar tools. Plan, execute, and document laboratory and system-level experiments. Investigate technical issues and identify root causes of performance challenges. Collaborate with engineers, researchers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams. Communicate technical findings and recommend design improvements. Education and ExperienceMaster's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Degree in Optical Engineering, Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. Experience with integrated optics, photonic integrated circuits, or optical sensor systems. Experience using MATLAB, Lumerical, LabVIEW, KLayout, or related engineering tools. Experience conducting optical testing, characterization, alignment, or laboratory-based experimentation. Experience translating technical requirements into practical engineering solutions. Manage multiple tasks while maintaining high quality standards. Additional Responsibilities: There is potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currents. The current base annual salary range for this role is currently: $0-0 Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members. Employees will also receive eight (8) hours of vacation leave every month and (13) paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
