DESCRIPTION: Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific where you'll contribute to innovation in molecular biology and analytical technologies. As a Staff Scientist, you'll guide the development of next-generation assays, solutions, and proof-of-concept studies that advance scientific discovery. Working with advanced technologies and accomplished colleagues, you'll identify and evaluate emerging analytical methods while building strategic partnerships with academic institutions and industry leaders. Your work will directly impact the biopharmaceutical industry through the development and optimization of sensitive, specific, and robust analytical assays. This role offers the opportunity to mentor team members, guide strategic initiatives, and contribute to transformative solutions that help make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. REQUIREMENTS: • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience • Preferred Fields of Study: Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field • Expertise in molecular biology techniques including qPCR, dPCR, NGS, and protein-based analytics • Strong background in assay development and optimization for biologics testing • Experience with laboratory automation, microfluidics, and high-throughput screening methods • Demonstrated success in new product development from concept to commercial launch • Proficiency in experimental design, statistical analysis, and Design of Experiments (DOE) • Knowledge of biopharma regulatory requirements and quality systems • Experience working in BSL1/BSL2 laboratory settings • Strong project leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities • Excellence in written and verbal communication • Proven ability to mentor and develop team members • Strategic problem-solving and innovation capabilities • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities • Up to 25% travel may be required • Experience with data analysis tools (R, Python, JMP) preferred • Understanding of intellectual property and patent landscape • Strong documentation and organizational skills • Commitment to Thermo Fisher's core values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement
