Job Description: In order to support Commercial & Contracts (C&C), Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Commercial & Contracts Manager for Combat Air Systems ILS & Development (d/f/m)to join our team in Manching. Within the Commercial & Contracts team for Combat Air Systems, you will play a pivotal role in managing commercial offers and contracts for the Eurofighter platform. The Eurofighter programme holds a strategic long-term vision extending beyond 2060, making this role crucial for driving sustainable contractual success in an evolving international environment. In this position, you will build strong, collaborative relationships across diverse internal functions (Finance, Programme Management, Legal & Compliance, Procurement) and key external international stakeholders – including NETMA, Eurofighter GmbH, EPCs/PCOs (BAE Systems, Leonardo), BAAINBw, and any other national and international Customers. This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks. Your tasks and responsibilities Holding overall commercial responsibility for the end-to-end execution of assigned Eurofighter ILS & Development contracts, including managing claims, contract amendments, scope adjustments, and re-negotiations. Leading commercial proposal preparation, contract negotiations, contract signature, and operational management for complex Development and Support contracts (e.g. LTE, E-Scan, MLU) covering a cumulative contract value of approx. € 1 billion. Managing complex agreements with NETMA for the four Core Nations (DEU, SPA, ITA, UK), export contracts and service contracts via Eurofighter Prime Contractors (BAE Systems, Leonardo), as well as direct national contracts). Driving commercial contract negotiations for new business opportunities and contract modifications across Airbus Defence and Space. Ensuring all contractual terms are comprehensive, clear, legally sound, and compliant, while maintaining structured alignment with internal functional departments. Securing the future long-term success of the Eurofighter programme through proactive, continuous contracting in ILS & Development under evolving framework conditions. Providing proactive strategic advice and guidance to Senior Management and Project Leadership to support key decision-making processes. This includes support to the internal Bid Approval Process (MG03 and RMC) and Contract Authorization Process (MG04). Desired skills and qualifications Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Business Administration, International Business Management, or a related discipline, complemented by a strong technical affinity. Solid professional experience in contract management within large international military programmes, ideally with deep insight into the Eurofighter ecosystem (NETMA, Eurofighter GmbH, EDR/SDR principles, Core Nations DEU, SPA, ITA, UK). Proven track record in guiding commercial proposal and contract preparation for complex Development & Support agreements. Solid knowledge of public price law and experience managing contracts subject to public pricing regulations. Strong financial background, with specific expertise in pricing and commercial valuation is a plus. Structured, independent working style with excellent analytical thinking and the ability to negotiate persuasively at international and military levels. Strong ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional matrix teams and international environments. Creative mindset with the flexibility to adapt positively to dynamic requirements. Confidence and strong communication skills with a professional demeanor. Language skills: Negotiation level in English; German at basic/intermediate level (A2+) to facilitate local integration; additional languages are an asset. Not a 100% match? No worries!
