The Senior Director, Clinical Health Physics Services leads the global strategy, commercialization, and delivery of Siemens Healthineers' radiation shielding, radiation protection, and theragnostic support services. This role is responsible for building and growing a best-in-class clinical health physics practice that enables the safe adoption of advanced imaging, radiation therapy, and radiopharmaceutical technologies worldwide. As both a business leader and technical expert, the Senior Director identifies market opportunities, develops scalable service offerings, collaborates with sales and marketing to drive revenue growth, and establishes technical standards that differentiate Siemens Healthineers in the market. The role serves as the company's foremost authority on clinical shielding design, radiation protection assessments, and the radiation safety aspects of theragnostic programs, helping healthcare organizations safely expand access to molecular imaging and targeted radionuclide therapies. Key Responsibilities Perform radiation shielding calculations and design evaluations for linear accelerator, diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, PET/CT, SPECT/CT, radionuclide therapy, and radiopharmaceutical production facilities. Develop shielding reports and facility design recommendations for new construction, renovations, and equipment installations. Conduct radiation protection assessments for theranostic programs, including patient treatment rooms, hot labs, waste storage areas, and radiopharmaceutical handling locations. Review architectural drawings, occupancy factors, source terms, workload assumptions, and shielding materials to ensure regulatory compliance. Perform and/or supervise acceptance testing and post-installation radiation surveys to verify shielding performance. Evaluate radiation exposure risks to occupational workers, members of the public, and adjacent occupancies. Develop ALARA-based recommendations for facility operations and engineering controls. Provide radiation safety consulting for the implementation and expansion of theranostic programs. Develop radiation safety procedures for radiopharmaceutical receipt, handling, administration, waste management, contamination control, and patient release. Perform dose assessments and exposure evaluations related to theranostic services. Support licensing activities associated with therapeutic radionuclides and authorized user requirements. Advise clinical teams on radiation safety best practices for therapeutic administrations. Evaluate radiation safety programs for compliance with NRC, Agreement State, DOT, and applicable federal and state regulations. Conduct radiation safety audits, surveys, and program assessments. Support facilities with regulatory correspondence. Assist in preparation, amendment, and renewal of Radioactive Materials Licenses. Investigate radiation safety events and recommend corrective actions when necessary. Provide expert guidance on regulatory matters. Develop and deliver radiation safety training programs for healthcare personnel. Prepare radiation safety education materials and documentation required for regulatory inspections. Educate staff on safe handling of radioactive materials, contamination control, emergency procedures, and personnel monitoring. Provide technical guidance regarding evolving theranostic technologies and radiation protection practices. Respond to client inquiries regarding radiation safety regulations, shielding requirements, and operational concerns. Provide remote and on-site technical support to healthcare clients. Prepare technical reports, shielding evaluations, radiation survey analyses, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with architects, engineers, physicians, and healthcare administrators during facility planning and implementation projects. Support business development and client engagement activities related to radiation safety and shielding services. Develop and execute the global strategy for Radiation Shielding & Protection Services, aligning service offerings with Siemens Healthineers' growth objectives and customer needs. Identify market opportunities and establish a roadmap for the expansion of shielding, radiation protection consulting, and theranostics support services. Evaluate emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure service offerings remain innovative and differentiated. Define global standards, methodologies, and best practices for shielding assessments, radiation protection evaluations, and theranostics facility planning. Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics to measure service-line growth, customer value, operational excellence, and financial performance. Partner with regional and global Sales teams to identify new business opportunities, develop customer engagement strategies, and support revenue growth. Collaborate with Marketing to develop messaging, thought leadership content, conference presence, and customer-facing materials that promote Siemens Healthineers' expertise in shielding and radiation protection. Support strategic customer discussions, executive briefings, and proposal development for complex projects involving theranostics programs, radiopharmaceutical facilities, and advanced imaging environments. Serve as a senior technical and commercial representative during customer presentations, industry meetings, and professional society engagements. Lead the development and deployment of scalable service offerings across regions, ensuring consistent quality and customer experience worldwide. Collaborate with business units, clinical organizations, and product teams to integrate radiation protection services into broader healthcare solutions. Establish partnerships and networks with healthcare providers, regulators, professional organizations, academic institutions, and industry stakeholders. Act as the global subject matter authority for radiation shielding, facility design, radiation risk assessment, and theranostics radiation protection. Build, mentor, and lead a global team of certified health physicists, shielding specialists, and radiation protection professionals as business growth requires. Provide coaching, performance management, and professional development for direct and indirect reports. Lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders across multiple geographies and business functions. Develop annual operating plans, resource strategies, and investment recommendations supporting service-line growth. Monitor service performance, utilization, customer satisfaction, and financial results. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, scalability, and profitability. Ensure services are delivered in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and Siemens Healthineers quality processes. Required Qualifications Certification by the American Board of Health Physics (CHP) or American Board of Radiology (ABR) . Master's degree in Health Physics, Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Radiological Sciences, or a related field required. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in medical health physics, radiation protection, or nuclear medicine health physics. Demonstrated experience performing radiation shielding calculations and facility design evaluations for linear accelerator facilities. Experience supporting radiation safety aspects of radiation therapy, nuclear medicine, and therapeutic radionuclide programs.
