JOB DESCRIPTION:The Global Security Director will be responsible for providing effective security solutions related to effective collaborative business relationships that protect Abbott’s products, facilities, intellectual property, and people. The position will be responsible for assisting the Global Security Senior Director to protect the tangible and intangible assets of the company and its respective business stakeholders. Responsibilities: This position will proactively implement practices that align with the company’s Global Security policies and standards. The Individual will provide dynamic leadership and support for the strategy and execution of the Global Security initiatives by delivering continuous improvements of the quality, efficiency and effectiveness, meeting security objectives, and successful completion of security projects. Core Duties: Formulating key internal and external business and strategic relationships. Recognized as a key opinion leader, externally and internally in the areas of functional responsibility. Successfully developing and implementing Abbott’s Global Security strategy which ensures proper business continuity and protects our operations, people, and assets. Engage Abbott businesses and external partners enabling the real-time exchange of critical intelligence and information. Improve and sustain Global Security knowledge, skill, and abilities to lessen the reliance on external vendors. Serve as a subject matter expert regarding on-going security threats and recommend appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Strengthen private and public partnerships to best safeguard emerging market personnel, assets, facilities, and intellectual property. Focus on leveraging multi-national organizations to harmonize efforts to prevent security lapses and mitigate brand impacts. Communicate value-focused risk and cyber-threat intelligence. Streamline oversight and physical security concepts through standardized metrics. Leverage data analytics to drive risk intelligence and develop strategic product integrity investigative models. Continually benchmark with industry organizations, advisory councils, international bodies, and US government organizations to refine and strengthen best practices. As needed, assist Global Security with managing operational programs (Physical Security, Executive Protection, Supply Chain Security, Special Events, Investigations, and analytics) Provide effective security risk management solutions to Abbott’s Business stakeholders by being a “trusted adviser” on security related matters. Consult with appropriate law enforcement, intelligence and threat assessment agencies to identify, quantify, and assess security threats to operating facilities to provide initiative-taking advice on suitable mitigation measures to protect the Abbott Brand Drive awareness of road maps with key stakeholders on corresponding security investment recommendations and decisions Assist with developing and implementing security awareness and training initiatives intended to influence employee and contingent workers to adopt secure behaviors. Manages a team, including performance, direction, hiring, retention, training, and development Strategically plan the implementation of organization-wide security initiatives, ensuring that processes and systems are in place and working as intended Understands the needs of a self-organizing team (cross-functioning, partners with the business, collaborative, works quickly and unencumbered, and autonomous, be able to focus on self-improvement) and supports the management activities that make self-organization successful. Understands patterns and trends that contribute to utilizing key performance indicators and critical success factors that will improve the performance of the organization Continually monitor security trends, the threat landscape, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices Leads functional team(s) to successfully build, enhance, transform, or support security technology and/or secure business services by successfully delivering on outcomes. Works with the principals to develop short and long-term strategies for global security operations, systems, and devices. Maintain overall program vision and direction aligned with business strategy and defined outcomes. Produce program and project level dashboards, scorecards, reporting, and metrics to monitor progress & performance. Prepares creative and enticing communications around relevant security topics. Fosters and maintain a workplace culture respectful and supportive of individual differences Must have excellent oral and written communication skills Qualifications: • Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree • Minimum 15 years of experience in a corporate or government environment. Must have a current high level security clearance Minimum 5 years of demonstratable international security management experience. Experience working with international law enforcement agencies (Interpol, Europol, etc…) • Investigative and technical certifications desirable • Possess broad and deep understanding of investigations • Strong analytical skills with ability to define, collect, analyze data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make fact-based decisions • Experience planning and implementing Physical and Information Security Awareness program elements and/or role-based training programs • Ability to communicate, present, and influence effectively within a multi-national, multicultural, setting; capable of interfacing/ influencing senior business leaders, staff, contractors, and other security professionals to build strong relationships • Must be able to develop/nurture concepts into pragmatic, efficient, and effective solutions • Must be self-directed and able to manage large, concurrent projects with minimal supervision • Ability to understand and translate business strategy into relevant, value-added Security actions/ initiatives • Ability to influence across multiple functions and teams The base pay for this position is $149,300.00 – $298,700.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
