What will you do in this role Manages and mentors a team of data engineers, fostering a high-performance culture, guiding career development, and aligning individual growth with business priorities. Oversees the design, execution, and operational support of scalable data pipeline architectures, ensuring seamless data ingestion, processing, and delivery across cloud platforms. Directs data engineering strategy on Databricks and AWS, ensuring team deliverables leverage optimized cluster configurations, cost-efficient storage, and robust processing frameworks. Defines, implements, and enforces engineering governance, including CI/CD workflows, testing standards, and compliance frameworks across the team's delivery pipeline. Accountable for the successful delivery of high-impact analytics projects, managing timelines, resource allocation, and technical risks from inception to deployment. Evaluates upstream and downstream architectural dependencies, managing integrations across multiple platforms, specifically handling complex data flows between Salesforce and AWS/Databricks environments. Collaborates with cross-functional technical leaders to align the team's technical roadmap with emerging cloud methodologies and enterprise architectural standards. Partners with commercial business leaders and stakeholders to translate strategic commercial goals into actionable data engineering roadmaps and product backlogs. Establishes strong stakeholder trust, managing expectation setting, progress communication, and service-level agreements (SLAs) for delivered data products. Drives continuous operational improvement, monitoring industry trends to introduce modern tools, automation, and patterns that reduce technical debt and processing costs. Builds and champions a technical "community of practice", encouraging knowledge sharing, cross-training, and collaboration within and beyond the immediate engineering team. Holds ultimate accountability for delivery quality, ensuring all team solutions strictly adhere to data privacy laws, GxP compliance (where applicable), and exceptional performance standards. Sponsors and guides innovative experimentation, enabling the team to pilot new technologies, conduct proof-of-concepts, and define clear business-value metrics for R&D efforts. Provides deep commercial domain leadership, overseeing data engineering strategies that support Salesforce CRM systems and advanced commercial reporting capabilities. What Should you have: BS Computer Science or related degree with 8-12 Yrs experience in data engineering. People & Team Leadership: Proven experience managing, coaching, and scaling a team of data engineers, including performance management and career development. IDMC Platform & Enterprise ETL Governance: Strategic experience overseeing IDMC organization setups, runtime environments (Secure Agents), integration architecture standards, and license utilization. Platform Delivery Strategy: Experience overseeing enterprise AWS and Databricks architecture footprints, including workspace governance and RBAC (Unity Catalog). Cloud FinOps: Background in managing cloud infrastructure costs, cluster policies, and resource allocation across AWS and Databricks. Salesforce Integration Governance: Experience directing the strategic data sync, master data management (MDM), and schema coordination between Salesforce CRM and cloud lakehouses. Delivery & Program Management: Track record of driving engineering backlogs, resource planning, sprint capacity, and meeting production data SLAs. Compliance & Governance: Experience enforcing data privacy rules, GxP SDLC software validation, and data quality assurance frameworks. Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills to partner with commercial business leaders, align roadmaps, and manage expectations.
