As the Workplace and Operational Excellence Program Leader for the Waukesha Campus (Intern/Co-Op) at GE HealthCare, you will join GEHC’s Waukesha Campus transformation program, designed to unify employee experience, customer experience, and campus appeal through modernized workspaces, upgraded amenities, connected collaboration environments, and a more cohesive campus experience. This role will report directly to the Renaissance Program Leader and GE HealthCare’s Global Workplace and Operational Excellence Leader. You will work alongside professionals responsible for GEHC’s real estate portfolio, capital projects, workplace operations, and facilities excellence, helping coordinate cross-functional workstreams with campus teams, business partners, and suppliers; track readiness activities; monitor program tools and trackers; and contribute to the communications, documentation, and planning needed to support successful openings and long-term operational sustainment. The Waukesha Campus is undergoing a significant workplace and operational evolution. Renaissance is intended to strengthen the campus as a core destination for colleagues, customers, and stakeholders by creating modern work environments, more connected collaboration spaces, upgraded campus amenities, improved service models, and a coordinated operational roadmap across workplace operations, technology, security, facilities, real estate portfolio priorities, and colleague experience. The program also has the potential to become a leading example for how GEHC defines, measures, manages, and maintains operational excellence across its global real estate portfolio. A key part of this campus transformation includes partnering with the team standing up GEHC’s first Customer Experience Center, an immersive destination designed to educate stakeholders, strengthen relationships, and showcase GEHC’s devices, digital innovations, workflow solutions, and future roadmap in a patient-centric, visionary, and memorable way. Key Areas of Impact Operational Readiness Planning: Support the development and maintenance of readiness plans, program timelines, risks, issues, decisions, and key milestones across workstreams. Cross-Functional Campus and Supplier Coordination: Work with businesses, enabling functions, project teams, suppliers, vendors, and campus stakeholders to gather inputs, validate needs, identify dependencies, and help ensure each detail is considered before opening renovated spaces. Progress Tracking & Reporting: Assist with project dashboards, meeting notes, action logs, and follow-up tracking to keep workstreams moving against critical dates. Program Tracking & Service Optionality Support: Monitor and organize existing program trackers, service assumptions, and good/better/best optionality inputs to help leaders maintain visibility into campus operating model decisions. Change & Communication Support: Partner with Renaissance Program Team to draft and send clear communications, presentation materials, and engagement updates that help stakeholders understand program priorities and next steps. Global Real Estate Exposure: Learn how a best-in-class global real estate team supports portfolio strategy, capital project delivery, day-to-day operations, facilities excellence, and workplace experience across a complex enterprise campus environment. Customer Experience Center Support: Partner with the team advancing GEHC’s first Customer Experience Center and support readiness, coordination, documentation, and stakeholder engagement for this important campus investment. Operational Excellence Playbook Support: Help document opening readiness practices, sustainment plans, lessons learned, and scalable operating model inputs that can inform an operational excellence playbook for deployment at key GEHC sites globally. Qualifications We’re looking for students who are ready to learn, contribute, and make a difference in a complex campus transformation environment. You are: Currently enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program at an accredited college or university and returning to school after the internship. Ability to travel to the GEHC Waukesha Campus for meetings as needed. Pursuing a degree in Business, Operations, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Project Management, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field. Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset and comfort working across functions. Organized and detail-oriented, with strong time management skills. Demonstrates initiative and a self-starter attitude. Developing proficiency in project management, meeting coordination, action tracking, and status reporting. Preferred Qualifications You may stand out if you have: Prior experience in project coordination, workplace experience, facilities, operations, communications, or transformation initiatives. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Smartsheet, Excel, PowerPoint, Generative AI, or similar collaboration and reporting tools. Interest in workplace strategy, colleague experience, operational readiness, and continuous improvement. Proven adaptability and community involvement. Other Details Workplace and Operational Excellence Program Support Support the Renaissance Program Leader and Global Workplace and Operational Excellence Leader in advancing the Waukesha Campus operational readiness roadmap, coordinating across campus businesses, internal teams, and suppliers, and connecting local execution to broader global real estate priorities. Maintain readiness plans, action trackers, decision logs, risk and issue logs, and program timelines to support consistent execution across workstreams. Help build and organize the operational framework for how renovated spaces will be opened, managed, maintained, and continuously improved after activation. Coordinate with workstream leaders, supplier partners, and vendor teams to gather updates, validate milestones, confirm dependencies, and identify escalation needs. Support weekly program meetings by preparing agendas, capturing notes, tracking follow-ups, and organizing materials for leadership review. Campus Experience, Program Tracking, and Reporting Support Monitor and organize existing program trackers, service scope assumptions, and good/better/best optionality inputs to support visibility into FY planning and campus operating model discussions, without owning budget decisions or financial approvals. Help develop progress reporting dashboards, presentation materials, communication drafts, and stakeholder updates that make program status clear and actionable. Support research, benchmarking, and documentation related to future-state workplace experience services, colleague-facing amenities, operational processes, and campus readiness. Partner with cross-functional teams to improve tools, templates, and processes that enable scalable workplace and operational excellence practices. Gain practical exposure to how global real estate, facilities, projects, operations, and workplace experience teams partner to deliver consistent, scalable, and colleague-centered solutions. Support coordination activities connected to the Customer Experience Center, including readiness planning, stakeholder updates, documentation, and integration with broader campus transformation workstreams. Help capture operating model insights, opening readiness practices, sustainment requirements, lessons learned, and repeatable tools from Renaissance that can inform an operational excellence playbook and future global real estate operational penetration planning.
