Job Description: Aircraft Mechanical Fitter Shawbury Shift Pattern - Base days Monday - Thursday, 0730 – 1630 with 30min unpaid break Friday, 0700 – 1300 Saturday – Sunday, off About AHUK... The Opportunity Aircraft Mechanical Fitter at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire. Reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager, to support the MFTS operation. Assisting Certifying Engineers with the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme. Ensuring compliance with Aviation regulations and Company procedures. Accomplishment of Maintenance activities as directed by Maintenance Supervisors. Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure continued safe operation of the aircraft. Assisting with aircraft maintenance, including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical systems and electrical systems under the supervision of Certifying Engineers. Assist in day to day running of the Hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping responsibilities. Knowledge and Skills Experience in an Aviation engineering environment Knowledge of UK CAA regulations Good knowledge of engine and airframe systems Ability to work as part of a team Self-motivated and ability to work under own initiative Strong communication and organisational skills Flexible to the requirements of the company and needs of the customer Operational resilience and collaborative problem-solving Fitter-to-LAE Pathway Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part 66 B2 Licence who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years’ experience documented in their experience logbooks are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.
