About the Role: We’re looking for an Associate Scientist, Bioprocess Development on the Biologics Research team to help us expand what’s possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Senior Director, Biologics Research, you’ll support the development and execution of upstream bioprocess capabilities within our Biologics Research organization. What You'll Do: In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the establishment and operation of research bioprocess laboratories, supporting a diverse pipeline of biotherapeutic programs from early discovery through preclinical CMC >. You’ll also: Perform hands-on experiments in upstream processing (USP): Microbial (e.g., E. coli) and mammalian (e.g., CHO, HEK) expression systems, including cell culture maintenance, media preparation, and bioreactor operation at bench scale Assist in the setup, maintenance, and operation of research bioprocess development laboratories Write and follow experimental protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Compile and summarize experimental data into electronic laboratory notebook entries, presentations, and technical reports Collaborate with Discovery, Analytical, Technical Operations, and Preclinical Development teams Contribute to team meetings and scientific discussions with data-driven updates Who You Are: You have an Master’s degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, biology, biochemistry, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience. You are or you also have: Foundational knowledge of and experience with upstream bioprocess techniques, including cloning, molecular biology, microbial fermentation, and mammalian cell culture is required Experience with protein production in E. coli is required Experience with bench-scale bioreactor operation Proficiency in standard laboratory techniques and data analysis tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to scientific rigor Clear written and verbal communication skills Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic biologics organization Willingness to learn new techniques and take on challenges in a growing team Enthusiasm for contributing to innovative biologics programs that make a difference for patients Nice to have (but not required): · Experience with AMBR 250 multi-parallel bioreactors · Experience with downstream processing (DSP) · Familiarity with a range of biologic modalities (e.g., enzymes, mAbs, engineered proteins) · Familiarity with protein production in yeast Where You’ll Work This role is based out of our Lebanon, NH office and requires full-time, in-person presence to support hands-on collaboration, access specialized equipment, and/or operational needs.
