Provide the insight, assurance and challenge that helps leaders make confident decisions and drives continuous improvement across the organisation. As an Audit Assurance Lead, you'll play a key role in strengthening governance, managing risk and driving continuous improvement across the organisation. Leading audit and assurance activity, you'll provide independent insight into the effectiveness of processes, controls and compliance arrangements, helping ensure the business meets its regulatory, contractual and policy obligations. Working closely with senior leaders and stakeholders, you'll turn complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations that support informed decision-making, improve performance and build confidence in the organisation's control environment. Job title: Audit and Assurance Lead Job Description: 🕒 Permanent role - 37.5 hours a week 📍 Hybrid role with 2 or 3 days a week in Warminster 🔐 Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible for UK Security Clearance at BPSS level. What you’ll be doing Lead and deliver internal audits, assurance reviews and compliance assessments. Provide independent insight into the effectiveness of governance, controls and risk management arrangements. Identify risks, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement across the organisation. Deliver clear, practical recommendations that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement. Oversee the tracking and implementation of actions arising from audit and assurance activity. Prepare high-quality reports, dashboards and assurance summaries for senior leaders and governance forums. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, regulators and external assurance partners. Champion a culture of accountability, compliance and operational excellence. What we’re looking for Essential Skills/Experience/Qualifications Strong knowledge of audit, assurance, risk management, and governance principles. Experience of leading audits or assurance reviews in complex or regulated environments. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and identify key risks. Highly developed report-writing and communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and confidently. Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple assurance activities concurrently. Ability to influence, challenge, and advise at all levels of the organisation. High levels of integrity, objectivity, and professional judgement. Experience working with senior stakeholders and governance bodies.
