MISSION Reporting to: Senior Director Global Medical Affairs Atopic Dermatitis, the Associate Director Global Medical Affairs is accountable for providing medical and scientific strategic leadership regarding the assigned biologic product, ensuring close alignment with the Global Brand Team and the countries, as well as optimal execution. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES In close collaboration with the Senior Director, co-lead the development, alignment, and annual refresh of the global medical strategy and priorities for AD, and roll-out the strategic guidance from Global Medical Affairs to the launching countries. Ensure execution of the Global Medical Affairs plan and tactics. Review and validate local medical affairs plans from operating countries. Medical lead for strategic planning across the product lifecycle, including launch readiness for new indications and long-range planning. Translate strategy into an integrated medical plan, clear deliverables, decision points and success measures. Strategic owner of the medical affairs performance framework, including KPIs, progress reviews, risk identification and course correction. Drive cross-functional strategic alignment with global commercial, R&D, regulatory, market access, HEOR and regional/country medical teams: Represent the Global Medical Affairs team in key cross-functional meetings and provide medical affairs input in cross-functional strategy and tactics. Participate proactively in the global brand team: Representative of the Global Medical Affairs team in the global brand team; deliver medical affairs input into the global brand strategy and tactics. Co-own the insight-to-action process working closely with Medical Excellence ensuring insights inform strategy and execution. Provide strategic guidance for development and execution of global evidence generation plan: leading the cross-functional evidence generation team – identification of evidence gaps for AD and define methodology and timing on how to fill these gaps in close collaboration with the real-world evidence team and the operating countries. Provide strategic guidance for global clinical post-marketing studies (such as phase IV) and IIS: leading the development of study concepts and study protocols for clinical trials within the life cycle management of AD. Serve as the Global Medical Affairs strategic partner for Market Access and HEOR, ensuring evidence and value priorities are aligned. Leads the global medical engagement strategy: identify key experts in the field of atopic dermatitis and upcoming indications, identify their areas of interest and match to Almirall´s strategic needs, represent Almirall at key global meetings and conferences. Drives local medical affairs and MSL excellence by pro-actively engaging with the affiliates, upskilling the teams and leading by example: create an active medical community between the global and the affiliated countries, identify gaps in knowledge and skills and propose actions to improve skills and excellence of our medical teams on a global scale. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • MD (preferred) or Degree in Science. E.g.: Biology, Chemistry or equivalent • Knowledge and expertise in the field of Medical Dermatology, and if possible, in advanced systemics for Atopic Dermatitis. • 5 plus years of experience in managing global medical strategy for assigned products. Desirable • PhD or similar. • Experience in Global Medical Affairs. • Experience in launching global / EU products in medical dermatology, having launched at least 1 biologic product in the last 5-6 years. • Experience in leading cross-functional teams. • Experience in Global mid/large-size pharma business. PREFERRED SKILLS & COMPETENCES • Professional exposure to medical dermatology. • Specific disease area knowledge in Atopic Dermatitis is highly desirable. • High level of English. • Leadership skills. • Personal accountability. • Ability to work in a cross-functional environment. • External-facing professionals, able to liaise with external stakeholders.
