About the role Informix & Postgres Database Administrator to manage, maintain, monitor, and optimize IBM Informix & Postgres database environments supporting critical business applications. Responsible for database installation, configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security compliance, high availability, disaster recovery, and production support activities Your key responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain IBM Informix & Postgres database environments. Create and manage databases, storage structures, dbspaces, users, roles, and privileges. Perform database migrations, refreshes, and environment provisioning. Ensure database availability, reliability, and operational stability. Performance Management.Monitor database health and performance using standard monitoring tools. Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks involving SQL, storage, memory, and I/O. Optimise database configurations for maximum efficiency and throughput. Perform capacity planning and growth forecasting. Backup and Recovery . Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies. Execute and validate database backup schedules. Perform database recovery testing and disaster recovery exercises. Support business continuity and resilience requirements. High Availability & Disaster Recovery.Implement and support Informix High-Availability Data Replication (HDR), Shared Disk Secondary (SDS), and Remote Standalone Secondary (RSS) environments. Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing activities. Ensure recovery objectives are achieved according to business requirements. Provide 24x7 on-call support as required. What you bring Required qualifications 12 to years of Database Administration experience. 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Informix (11.x/12.x/14.x preferred) and PostgreSQL (v9.x to v13.x and EDB Postgres Advanced Server v9.x to v13.x) . Strong knowledge of: Informix & Postgres Architecture, HDR, SDS, RSS replication technologies Plan, install, and configure PostgreSQL database systems (i.e. PostgreSQL v9.x to v13.x and EDB Postgres Advanced Server v9.x to v13.x) that meet business objectives and the needs of end-users. Plan and carry out the upgrade and migration of databases. Develop, implement, and test database backup and recovery plans. Manage database and data security by controlling access to data through authentication, authorization, and auditing. Backup and recovery utilities. SQL tuning and performance optimization.Database security and auditing. Linux/Unix administration.Shell scripting (Bash/KornShell) Preferred qualifications Experience with enterprise monitoring tools. Familiarity with Informatics, ETL, or middleware technologies. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI). Experience with Ansible, Python, or automation frameworks. Understanding of ITIL processes and service management. What we offer you: Bring your ideas.
