Role OverviewWe are seeking a talented and motivated Associate Software Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the development of core infrastructure components, shared platform services, and microservice foundations that power multiple products across the organization. You will work with modern backend technologies, cloud-native platforms, and distributed systems while collaborating with experienced engineers to build scalable, resilient, and secure solutions. As part of our engineering culture, you will also leverage Generative AI tools to enhance productivity, accelerate development, and deliver high-quality software more efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your expertise in Java, Kubernetes, cloud technologies, and AI-enabled platforms while building a strong foundation in large-scale software engineering. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain microservices and backend services running on Kubernetes-based platforms. Contribute to core platform capabilities, including shared libraries, service frameworks, authentication services, and infrastructure components. Develop and enhance platform services such as API Gateway integrations, messaging adapters, caching solutions, auditing frameworks, and observability features. Support the implementation of AI-enabled capabilities, including integrations with Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) services. Utilize AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve coding efficiency, testing, debugging, and documentation. Collaborate with architects, senior engineers, and product teams to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions. Write clean, high-quality, and well-tested code, following engineering standards and best practices. Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and technical standards. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across application, platform, and infrastructure layers. Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, monitoring, and operational excellence initiatives. Contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and platform modernization efforts. Strong foundation in Java and object-oriented programming principles. Experience developing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot or similar frameworks. Good understanding of databases, SQL, and data-access patterns. Familiarity with software design principles, testing methodologies, and version control systems. Basic understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems concepts. Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Understanding of cloud platforms and modern application deployment practices. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills with a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced engineering environment. Preferred QualificationsExposure to Azure or other public cloud platforms. Experience working with Kafka, MQ, or messaging-based integrations. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and logging tools. Experience using AI-powered developer tools such as GitHub Copilot. Interest in Generative AI, LLMs, and AI-enabled software solutions.
