This position can be based in München, Nürnberg, Erlangen and other cities in Germany. In this role, you will drive scientific exchange, support clinical and evidence-generation initiatives, gather actionable insights, and partner cross-functionally to ensure consistent, high-quality scientific standards. The position plays a critical part in enhancing understanding of rare lipid disorders, supporting patient pathways, and enabling informed, ethical decision-making. Executes field medical activities in accordance with Medical Excellence standards, including qualitative insights capture, engagement planning discipline, and agreed performance measures. Key Responsibilities Build meaningful scientific partnerships Act as a trusted field-based medical and scientific expert for our product within the FCS and sHTG communities. Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with KOLs, healthcare professionals and academic researchers. Engage in high-quality, non-promotional scientific discussions around disease pathways, clinical evidence, patient management and emerging data, always using approved medical content. Foster balanced, scientifically rigorous dialogue and communicate relevant information clearly and effectively. Develop and maintain stakeholder engagement plans in line with Medical Excellence guidance, including stakeholder segmentation, engagement objectives, scientific exchange plans and appropriate documentation. Turn insights into impact Capture meaningful, actionable insights from interactions with HCPs, scientific meetings and other stakeholder activities. Bring the external perspective into Medical Affairs by sharing insights that can help shape:Medical strategy Evidence-generation priorities Stakeholder engagement plans Educational initiatives Key account plans and cross-functional activities Identify emerging challenges and opportunities across diagnosis, treatment access and unmet patient needs. Contribute to regular insight reviews, including monthly and quarterly discussions, helping to strengthen cross-country visibility and inform strategic decision-making. Support medical education and scientific excellence Deliver engaging, scientifically robust education to HCPs, specialist centres and relevant networks. Partner with the Medical Advisor to develop educational content, disease-awareness initiatives and scientific resources. Provide scientific training and support to internal colleagues across functions, helping ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance. Support advisory boards, congresses and expert meetings, contributing to meaningful scientific exchange. Deliver and support education initiatives in accordance with Medical Excellence quality standards. Contribute to clinical research and evidence generation Play an active role in evidence-generation activities, including:Phase IIIb/IV studies Investigator-initiated research (ISS/ISR) Non-interventional studies, registries and real-world evidence (RWE) programmes Patient identification and site feasibility discussions Engage with investigators and research sites to support study awareness, feasibility discussions and scientific collaboration. Bring insights from clinical practice and patient care into discussions around medical and scientific strategy. Champion compliance and medical governance Ensure all field activities and materials meet internal medical governance standards, SOPs and applicable external codes of practice. Follow Medical Excellence ways of working, including documentation standards, appropriate use of tools and agreed KPI reporting expectations. Ensure all scientific exchange is balanced, accurate, compliant and non-promotional. Understand and consistently follow medical, regulatory and pharmacovigilance processes. An advanced degree in life sciences or a related healthcare discipline (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, MSc or equivalent). Experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or healthcare industry. Previous MSL or customer-facing medical experience is preferred, but we are also open to experienced pharmaceutical sales professionals who are motivated to transition into Medical Affairs. Experience in specialty care, metabolic disorders or highly scientific therapy areas is beneficial. Proven ability to engage confidently with HCPs and build strong, trusted external relationships. A strong scientific mindset and the ability to understand and communicate complex scientific and clinical information clearly. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. The ability to establish credibility and build trusted relationships with clinical and scientific experts. Strong analytical skills and a natural ability to listen, identify meaningful insights and translate them into actionable contributions. The ability to work autonomously in the field, combined with strong organisation and prioritisation skills. A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional internal teams. High ethical standards and a commitment to balanced, unbiased and compliant scientific engagement. Willingness and flexibility to travel for external meetings, site visits, congresses and other medical events. Good command of English; fluency in German is required for effective engagement with local HCPs and stakeholders.
