Position Summary Join our collaborative team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Business Manager III, where you will play a key role in strengthening strategic client relationships and driving business growth within our Pharma Services Group. The Business Manager III develops and manages strategic relationships with commercial clients, serving as a key liaison between clients and Thermo Fisher Scientific. This role builds strong partnerships, identifies growth opportunities, and ensures exceptional service by understanding client needs and aligning solutions with business and site objectives. Working cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Project Management, and site leadership, the Business Manager III supports portfolio strategy, contract management, demand planning, and successful execution of complex client programs. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and manage strategic business relationships with existing and new commercial clients, serving as a key point of contact for business and commercial matters. Build trusted client partnerships by developing a thorough understanding of client organizations, priorities, product portfolios, business needs, and long-term objectives. Identify and develop opportunities for organic growth within existing accounts in partnership with Sales, Business Development, and site leadership. Facilitate execution of portfolio management strategies across assigned clients, programs, and projects, including technology transfers and commercial product launches. Serve as an escalation point for critical client and business needs, supporting prioritization, issue resolution, and timely decision-making. Partner closely with project teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and a best-in-class client experience. Drive contract compliance and support the development, negotiation, and execution of new contracts, amendments, and updates to existing agreements in collaboration with Portfolio Management, Business Development, Finance, Legal, and site leadership. Support commercial and financial management of assigned accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue planning, and financial analysis. Manage the demand component of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), leveraging business intelligence, client forecasts, and market insights to support long-term demand and capacity scenario planning. Contribute to development of the site's Annual Operating Plan and other business planning activities. Evaluate client requirements and develop solutions that align with site capabilities, capacity, financial objectives, and overall business strategy. Understand the technical and commercial requirements of client programs and how they contribute to broader site and business objectives. Support client engagements throughout the product lifecycle, from initial business discussions and technology transfer through commercial launch and ongoing supply. Monitor multiple complex client programs and priorities simultaneously while proactively identifying business risks, opportunities, and potential solutions. Build consensus across functions and effectively communicate client priorities, business requirements, risks, and opportunities to internal stakeholders. Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and professionalism in accordance with GMP requirements and Thermo Fisher Scientific policies and procedures. Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 1+ years of relevant experience. Relevant experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, contract manufacturing, or CMO/CDMO industry strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience in account management, project management, sales, marketing, business management, or related commercial functions with internal and/or external client-facing responsibilities. Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and GMP-regulated environments. Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and business planning. Experience supporting or managing technology transfer projects and commercial product launches preferred. Experience with S&OP processes, demand planning, and contract compliance preferred. Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrong understanding of account and relationship management principles with the ability to develop trusted, long-term client partnerships. Working knowledge of project and portfolio management principles and experience managing multiple complex programs or priorities simultaneously. Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to understand the business implications of technical and operational decisions. Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing, GMP requirements, and the CMO/CDMO business environment. Advanced negotiation, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams. Ability to navigate complex client situations while maintaining constructive, solutions-oriented relationships with external clients and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, build consensus, and drive decisions across multiple functions without direct authority. Strong analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail and the ability to translate data and business intelligence into actionable recommendations. Ability to balance client requirements with operational capabilities, financial objectives, contractual commitments, and site strategy. Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Fluent English communication skills required. Ability to travel up to 10%, as business needs require.
