Job Function: Procurement Job Sub Function: Procurement Business Engagement Leads Job Category: People Leader All Job Posting Locations: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, United States of America, Raritan, New Jersey, United States of America, Raynham, Massachusetts, United States of America, Warsaw, Indiana, United States of America Job Description: JOB SUMMARY The Director, Spine, Sports & CMFT Supply Chain Procurement is the end-to-end strategic, commercial and operational Procurement leader for the Spine, Sports Medicine and Craniomaxillofacial and Thoracic (CMFT) platforms. The role is a member of the Orthopaedics Supply Chain Procurement Leadership Team and the primary Source partner to the Spine, Sports & CMFT Supply Chain Leadership Team. The Director translates platform, product and Supply Chain priorities into integrated supplier, sourcing, contracting, innovation, risk, network and value-creation strategies. The position is accountable across the complete supplier lifecycle, from upstream R&D engagement and supplier selection through contracting, performance management, business continuity, implementation and stabilization. A central accountability is shaping and executing the future supply network, including acquisitions and integrations, external-manufacturing strategies, site exits, insourcing and outsourcing decisions, major product and manufacturing transfers, and supplier-network transformation. The role balances immediate service and continuity requirements with multi-year roadmaps supporting growth, quality, resilience, margin expansion, cash flow and innovation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Platform Leadership & Business Partnership • Serve as the senior Procurement leader and single point of accountability for Spine, Sports & CMFT, representing Source in platform, value-stream, financial, innovation and operational governance. • Translate business, product and Supply Chain strategies into clear Procurement priorities, roadmaps, resource plans and executive decisions. • Partner across R&D, NPI, Technical Operations, Planning, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, Legal, Operations, Commercial and regional teams; escalate material risks and decisions promptly. 2. Procurement Strategy, Financial Performance & Value Creation • Own the integrated platform Procurement strategy and contribution to business planning, latest estimates, long-range financial planning and annual targets. • Build and govern a credible pipeline for margin expansion, cost competitiveness, productivity and cash flow, supported by defined baselines, Finance validation, milestones and accountable owners. • Drive sustainable value through strategic sourcing, negotiation, supplier development, design-to-value, material and process optimization, commercial restructuring and network changes. • Monitor purchase-price exposure, claims, inflation/market movement, capital, tooling, non-recurring expense and other commercial risks. 3. Supplier Strategy, Governance & Performance • Own the platform view of the supplier base, including spend, product dependency, ownership, criticality, capability, capacity, performance, risk and growth relevance. • Develop supplier segmentation, product-to-supplier mapping, strategic supplier roadmaps and executive engagement plans. • Sponsor supplier business reviews and directly engage supplier executives on service, quality, capacity, cost, innovation, contracts and long-term strategy. • Establish measurable performance and development plans, clear escalation paths and disciplined follow-through for critical suppliers. 4. Supply Reliability, Business Continuity & Risk • Maintain executive oversight of supplier, component, technology, capacity, financial, geographic, logistics and regulatory risks affecting continuity or growth. • Lead the Procurement response to significant disruptions and coordinate mitigation with Planning, Quality, Operations, Technical Operations and Regulatory. • Drive alternate-source, dual-source, supplier-development, capacity-expansion, transfer, insourcing or inventory-protection strategies where justified. • Embed continuity protections and phase-in/phase-out requirements in sourcing strategies, contracts and supplier plans. 5. NPD, Innovation & Upstream R&D Partnership • Ensure early Procurement engagement in product and technology development, providing supply-market, capability, cost, commercial and risk insights. • Oversee supplier identification, due diligence, selection, contracting, qualification and readiness for new-product development, validation, launch and scale-up. • Drive competitive sourcing solutions that support target cost, quality, time-to-market, scalability, intellectual property and continuity requirements. • Connect unmet business and technical needs with supplier-enabled innovation, automation, materials and manufacturing capabilities. 6. Strategic Sourcing, Market Intelligence & Category Alignment • Lead critical RFx processes, market engagements, supplier evaluations and complex negotiations across base business, NPD and transformation programs. • Build fact-based perspectives on supplier markets, technologies, materials, capacity, manufacturing routes, total cost and risk. • Align platform needs with key stakeholders, resolving conflicts through transparent governance and business-based recommendations. • Use target cost, should-cost, total cost of ownership and competitive benchmarks to support major decisions. 7. Contracting & Commercial Governance • Maintain executive oversight of contract coverage and commercial risk; prioritize agreements based on supplier criticality, spend, exposure and growth dependency. • Sponsor strategic supply, development, external-manufacturing and other commercial agreements, amendments and significant claims. 8. Network Strategy, Acquisitions, Transfers & External Manufacturing • Lead the Procurement dimension of acquisitions, business integrations, site exits, insourcing and outsourcing decisions, external-manufacturing transitions, product transfers and supplier-network redesign. • For acquisitions, lead supplier due diligence, ownership mapping, onboarding, contract review or novation, pricing alignment, risk assessment, systems and master-data readiness, and transition to the future Procurement operating model. • For major transfers, lead network assessment, sourcing strategy, competitive RFx, supplier recommendation, contracting, implementation and stabilization. • Define decision criteria balancing run cost, innovation and future savings, execution capability, quality and regulatory readiness, financial strength, capacity, continuity, workforce, systems and long-term strategic fit. • Remain accountable beyond supplier award through supplier readiness, implementation, operational stabilization and long-term value realization. 9. People & Executive Leadership • Lead, coach and develop the geographically dispersed Procurement team; establish clear accountability across platforms, value streams, suppliers and programs. • Align permanent and project resources to the highest business priorities, including acquisitions and
