This role serves as a subject matter expert for daily trade operations, provides guidance to internal stakeholders, supports audits and regulatory reviews, and drives continuous improvement of compliance processes across international supply chains. The position works closely with Supply Chain, Logistics, Planning and Engineering and external service providers. The Trade Compliance Specialist I uses conceptual and practical expertise in trade compliance operations and related disciplines to address complex issues and drive process improvements that support strategic business goals. Explain complex or sensitive information to internal departments. Accountabilities & Responsibilities: Demonstrate strong knowledge and practical expertise in Trade Compliance activities in Mexico and USA.Request permits, licenses and certifications OEA, C-TPAT and VAT to the different institutions in Mexico and USA (Ministry of Economy, SAT, COFEPRIS, SEDENA, SENER, US Customs) Assign the correct HTS Code to the products. Manage and perform activities in the Annex 24 customs system (balances reports, discharge, inventories, INEGI, annual reports and updates) Create and analyze Annex 30 reports – VAT Certification. Determine country of origin for imported and exported products Manage free trade agreement qualification activities. Assist with special customs programs PROSEC, Rule 8th, USMCA,9801,9802 and Nairobi Protocol Key trade compliance contact who will provide support to internal departments and external suppliers. Support special projects related to customs compliance and global trade operations. Act as a knowledgeable resource for internal teams by communicating best practices. Represent Trade Compliance department in new projects, customer meetings and government interaction. Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions. Develop trade compliance metrics and recommend process improvements. Coordinate with Engineering, R&D, and Regulatory Affairs new projects. Lead and participate in improvement initiatives focused on achieving company goals. Communicate plans and new requirements to internal and corporate departments. Ability to work independently, communicate effectively across teams, and develop innovative solutions to address operational challenges. Deliver training and awareness programs related to trade compliance requirements. Education & Experience: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in international business, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience in Trade Compliance, Logistics, Customs, or Import/Export operations. Knowledge & Skills: Special Skills: Strong knowledge and practical expertise in Trade Compliance Good problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively across the organization throughout all levels both verbally and written. Demonstrated ability to be organized and adaptable to meet business deadlines in a dynamic environment Risk Identification Project coordination. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office products). Specialized Knowledge: Bilingual English and Spanish. Experience with Annex 24 system (I-XPORT, Intrade, Zoe). Experience with VUCEM Experience with ERP systems (Oracle and SAP).
