About the Role We are looking for a Senior Engineer II, Field Service (Engineer in Charge) who will indirectly lead a team of engineers supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment in a high-volume production environment. This role combines deep technical expertise, leadership, operational ownership, and strategic planning. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving equipment reliability, capacity, uptime, and operational excellence while leading engineers supporting a critical manufacturing area. Over time, this role may assume responsibility for a fleet of up to 20 production tools and a team of engineers operating in a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Equipment & Area Ownership Own the technical performance, reliability, and operational readiness of a designated equipment area. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on uptime, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency. Lead complex root cause investigations and implement sustainable engineering solutions. Develop and execute long-term reliability and performance roadmaps. Leadership Indirectly lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers supporting manufacturing operations. Manage engineering resources across shift-based operations. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and technical excellence. Drive talent development, succession planning, and technical competency growth. Business & Operational Leadership Partner closely with customers, manufacturing, engineering, and service organizations. Support factory expansions, capacity growth, and equipment deployment strategies. Manage operational risks and execute mitigation plans. Present performance updates, reliability metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership. Technical Excellence Serve as the technical authority for the assigned equipment area. Lead technology introductions, qualifications, and major improvement programs. Ensure engineering standards and best practices are implemented consistently. Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related technical field. Experience Strong experience in semiconductor manufacturing, semiconductor equipment, advanced manufacturing, automation, or equivalent high-tech industries. Demonstrated engineering excellence and a proven track record of solving complex technical challenges. Experience leading projects, technical initiatives, task forces, or engineering teams. Technical Skills Strong systems-thinking and engineering problem-solving capabilities. Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis expertise.
