Job description
Job title: Director Contract Analytics New Customer Models and Transformation Location: Morristown, NJ or Cambridge, MA About the job Ready to push the limits of what's possible? Join Sanofi in one of our corporate functions and you can play a vital part in the performance of our entire business while helping to make an impact on millions around the world. We are an innovative global healthcare company, committed to transforming the lives of people with immune challenges, rare diseases and blood disorders, cancers, and neurological disorders. From R&D to sales, our talented teams work together, revolutionizing treatment, continually improving products, understanding unmet needs, and connecting communities. We chase the miracles of science every single day, pursuing progress to make a real impact on millions of patients around the world. As Director, Contract Analytics, New Customer Models and Transformation, you will lead the analytical strategy and cross-functional coordination for new and emerging customer and payer contracting models, as well as major transformation initiatives across the Contract Analytics organization. As payer and PBM economics continue to evolve, driven by new market entrants, evolving fee and rebate structures, and shifting regulatory dynamics, this role ensures Sanofi is prepared with rigorous analysis, a clear point of view, and a coordinated cross-functional response. This is a strategic, coordination-intensive role rather than a people-management role: the Director works across Contract Analytics, Finance, Legal, Strategic Pricing, Government Pricing, Operations, and Digital to pressure-test new models, build business cases, and drive major transformation efforts (such as forecasting platform implementation and enterprise data modernization) to completion. Join the team transforming care for people with immune challenges, rare diseases, cancers, and Specialty Care neurological conditions. In Specialty Care, you’ll help deliver breakthrough treatments that bring hope to patients with some of the highest unmet needs. About Sanofi We’re an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma company committed to improving people’s lives and delivering compelling growth. Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives. Main responsibilities Lead the end-to-end analytical response whenever a new or evolving customer, payer, or PBM contracting model emerges, standing up cross-functional working sessions, defining the key questions to pressure-test, and coordinating input from Contract Development, Strategic Pricing, Government Pricing, Finance, Legal, and Operations. Serve as the connective tissue across teams during the evaluation of novel contracting structures, synthesizing perspectives from finance (cash flow, GTN, and government pricing implications), legal (contract terms and audit rights), and pricing/operations (implementation feasibility) into a unified point of view. Build and present executive-ready analyses and recommendations on new customer/payer models, quantifying financial implications, identifying risks and open questions, and recommending a strategic path forward (e.g., participate, wait-and-see, negotiate terms). Maintain ongoing awareness of the evolving payer, PBM, and regulatory landscape (e.g., emerging fee structures, settlement-driven changes, legislative reform) to proactively identify when new analytical response efforts are needed. Lead major transformation initiatives within Contract Analytics, coordinating the business, analytical, and change-management workstreams required to move large-scale efforts from concept to execution. Partner with the forecasting platform implementation team and Digital teams to drive the implementation and evolution of Pre-Deal and Post-Deal Analytics models, ensuring contract analytics needs are represented in platform design decisions. Coordinate Contract Analytics' role in enterprise data modernization efforts, ensuring contract, fee, and rebate data are structured, well-governed, and ready to support advanced analytics and AI-driven insights. Drive process and governance improvement initiatives that affect Contract Analytics, developing the analytical business case, quantifying current-state pain points (e.g., approval cycle times, bottlenecks), and building the rationale for organizational or process changes, in partnership with senior stakeholders who ultimately own and approve those changes. Contribute contract-level analytics and scenario inputs to monthly finance reviews and the rolling forecast process, ensuring contracting considerations are reflected in GTN reserve positions and financial planning. Build repeatable analytical frameworks and documentation standards so that recurring efforts (new model assessments, transformation initiatives, governance reviews) can be executed faster and more consistently over time. About you Bachelor's degree required; field of study is open, strong analytical thinkers come from a wide range of backgrounds including life sciences, engineering, mathematics, economics, finance, social sciences, and beyond What matters most is quantitative reasoning, structured problem-solving, and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) preferred but not required; relevant experience and demonstrated impact will be weighted equally Minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical or life sciences experience across Contracting, Pricing, Market Access, Finance, Analytics, Data Science, or Strategy, with exposure to Managed Markets contracting. Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives or transformation projects, ideally involving Finance and Legal stakeholders. Experience navigating payer, PBM, or regulatory change (e.g., contract model changes, pricing reform, compliance-driven initiatives) preferred. Exceptional cross-functional coordination skills, with a track record of driving alignment across Finance, Legal, Pricing, and Operations on complex, ambiguous initiatives. Strong strategic and analytical thinking, able to structure ambiguous problems, identify the right questions, and synthesize diverse inputs into a clear recommendation. Deep understanding of pharmaceutical contracting, payer economics, and PBM/GPO fee and rebate structures. Experience leading or contributing to large-scale transformation initiatives (e.g., platform implementations, process redesigns, data modernization efforts). Executive presence and strong written/verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership. Familiarity with enterprise planning platforms and modern forecasting tools and data/analytics infrastructure concepts, without requiring hands-on technical build experience.
