The Associate Director, NPPA Thought Leader Liaison is a field-based professional responsible for developing and strengthening compliant, strategic relationships with leading Dermatology Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) across the United States, within the assigned geography/area of responsibility. This role serves as a subject-matter expert and strategic partner to the Dermatology APP community, identifying emerging thought leaders, understanding evolving clinical practice patterns, facilitating educational engagement and generating actionable insights that inform brand, medical, and commercial strategies. Ideal candidate will bring strong dermatology clinical knowledge, credibility with NPPA stakeholders, and the ability to build compliant, strategic relationships across external and internal audiences. Core Responsibilities Strategic APP Engagement • Develop and execute strategic engagement plans for priority Dermatology NP and PA thought leaders. • Identify emerging APP leaders, innovators, educators, researchers and high-impact community practitioners. • Build sustained, credible peer relationships with leading Dermatology APPs at the national level. • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Dermatology APP landscape, including practice models, scope of practice, clinical decision-making, treatment pathways and evolving roles within multidisciplinary care teams. • Establish the organization as a trusted scientific and clinical partner to the Dermatology APP community through compliant, accurate, and policy-aligned engagement. Thought Leader Development • Identify and cultivate emerging Dermatology APP thought leaders. • Assess APP influence, expertise, areas of clinical or educational expertise and areas of interest. • Develop appropriate engagement strategies for established and emerging APP leaders. • Support development of APP faculty and educational experts. • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for APP participation in advisory boards, educational programs, congresses and other compliant scientific/educational initiatives. APP Education and Engagement • Support development and execution of educational initiatives addressing unmet needs identified within the APP community. • Serve as a clinical resource on relevant disease states, treatment paradigms and evolving standards of care. • Translate emerging clinical evidence and expert perspectives into meaningful educational opportunities for the APP audience. • Assist with the identification, development, and management of Incyte’s speaker bureau, maintaining appropriate and regular communication with speakers to ensure alignment on disease and brand messaging. Field Insights and Strategy • Generate actionable insights regarding APP clinical practice, treatment decision-making, patient management, unmet needs and barriers to optimal care. • Identify emerging trends within the Dermatology APP community and communicate implications to internal stakeholders. • Develop regular insight reports that synthesize field observations and identify strategic opportunities. • Contribute APP-specific perspectives to brand, medical, professional relations and launch planning by providing field insights. Cross-Functional Collaboration • Partner closely with Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Training, Clinical Development and other relevant functions. • Serve as the internal subject-matter expert regarding the Dermatology APP landscape. • Provide strategic input into APP engagement plans, congress strategy, educational initiatives and speaker development. • Ensure appropriate separation of promotional and unbranded activities and adherence to all applicable company policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards. Congress and External Engagement • Represent the organization at relevant Dermatology, APP and specialty conferences. • Identify high-value opportunities for APP engagement and education at scientific meetings. • Plan and execute KEE engagements with senior leadership at regional and national conferences, during field visits, and other venues as directed, in a compliant manner. • Support appropriate advisory boards, roundtables, educational programs and other external engagements. • Build relationships with APP professional organizations, academic programs and other relevant institutions. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced clinical degree or relevant graduate degree preferred. • Demonstrated understanding of Dermatology clinical practice, treatment decision-making and the role of APPs in patient care. • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain trusted relationships with senior healthcare professionals and thought leaders. • Strong presentation, communication and facilitation skills. • Skilled at aligning cross-functional teams and driving outcomes through influence rather than authority. • Ability to synthesize clinical information and translate insights into strategic recommendations. • Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including overnight travel and attendance at major medical congresses. This field-based role is responsible for supporting an assigned geography/area of responsibility and requires approximately 50–75% travel. • Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to meet company travel requirements. • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and work effectively across cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications • Active Dermatology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA/PA-C) license preferred w/minimum of 3 years of clinical practice as an NP or PA. • Established relationships within the Dermatology NP/PA community. • Prior pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in Dermatology, Immunology, Allergy or a related specialty. • Prior experience in Medical Affairs, MSL, Thought Leader Liaison, Professional Relations, Clinical Education or a comparable field-based role. • Experience developing or supporting APP speakers, faculty or educational programs. • Experience participating in advisory boards or strategic councils. • Experience with product launches or pre-launch preparation. • Familiarity with professional organizations representing Dermatology APPs.
