The Role Kyndryl is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Lead & Subject Matter Expert to lead the architecture, engineering, reliability and continuous improvement of enterprise DevOps platforms supporting a leading European banking client. The role requires deep expertise in CI/CD and Software Factory platforms, Red Hat OpenShift, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and the Elastic stack. The selected candidate will provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in platform engineering, automation, production support and complex troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities Own the architecture, technical roadmap, and engineering standards for CI/CD, container, automation, and observability platforms. Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise CI/CD pipelines, quality gates, release automation, and artifact management. Manage and enhance Software Factory tools including Jenkins, GitLab, Nexus, Quay, SonarQube, Digital.ai Deploy, and Digital.ai Release. Maintain, support, and continuously improve Build Factory platforms and services. Develop, maintain, and optimize reusable GitLab CI/CD pipelines, templates, and shared components. Administer and support Red Hat OpenShift clusters, including configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Manage and govern the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, including organizations, inventories, credentials, job templates, and execution environments. Design and implement automation solutions using Ansible playbooks, roles, and CI/CD integrations. Support and manage OpenShift ecosystem technologies such as ArgoCD, Istio Service Mesh, Kyverno, and StackRox. Administer Azure cloud services, including subscriptions, networking, compute, storage, security, governance, and RBAC. Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), pipelines, and cloud automation tools. Maintain and enhance the Elastic Stack for centralized logging, monitoring, observability, and troubleshooting. Manage F5 platforms and develop automation capabilities, including Java-based tooling and configuration services. Provide L3 technical support, lead production incident resolution, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions. Mentor engineers and collaborate with development, infrastructure, security, architecture, and application teams to drive platform adoption and operational excellence. Required Technical and Professional Experience 10+ years of overall IT experience with at least 7+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Software Factory Engineering. Proven experience as a DevOps Lead, Platform Architect, or Technical SME in large-scale enterprise environments. Strong background in software development and CI/CD practices across Java, .NET, or Python applications. Hands-on expertise in Jenkins, GitLab/Git, Maven, Nexus, SonarQube, and NPM. Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting end-to-end CI/CD pipelines and release automation. Strong knowledge of containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). Expert-level administration and engineering experience with Red Hat OpenShift clusters and platform operations. Hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), including playbook development, automation, governance, and platform administration. Experience with Digital.ai Deploy and Digital.ai Release for deployment orchestration and release management. Strong working knowledge of ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for centralized logging, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Expertise in YAML pipelines, scripting, and automation using PowerShell, Bash/Shell, Python, and Groovy. Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tools such as ArgoCD, Istio Service Mesh, Kyverno, and StackRox. Strong Azure administration skills covering cloud infrastructure, security, governance, RBAC, and automation. Proven ability to manage production incidents, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and drive problem management initiatives. Excellent leadership, mentoring, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to provide technical direction while remaining hands-on. Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise Experience supporting banking or financial services applications and platforms. Knowledge of regulatory, security, audit, release, and operational resilience requirements in banking environments. Experience supporting critical production systems in regulated enterprise environments. Experience working with globally distributed engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams. Industry certifications such as CKA, CKAD, CKS, RHCSA, RHCE, OpenShift, Ansible, Azure Administrator, Azure Security Engineer, or DevOps Engineer Expert are highly desirable.
