Job description

The Position Join our global Occupational Health & Safety team and play a key role in protecting employee health across Boehringer Ingelheim sites worldwide. As Global Senior Manager Industrial Hygiene, you will drive the implementation of Industrial Hygiene standards, influence exposure control strategies, and strengthen global capabilities in a highly diverse and innovative environment. Based in Germany, you will collaborate with international experts across EHS, Occupational Medicine, Toxicology, Engineering, and Operations to enable safe, compliant, and sustainable business operations. Tasks & responsibilities In this role, you will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of global Industrial Hygiene standards, systems, and governance processes across Boehringer Ingelheim sites worldwide. You will provide expert support and coordinate occupational exposure assessment and control strategies, including chemical and API-related hazards as well as internal occupational exposure limit governance. To identify workplace health risks, you will conduct and oversee industrial hygiene assessments, exposure monitoring programs, and risk evaluations. By collaborating closely with sites and specialist functions, you will implement effective risk reduction measures and ensure the timely execution of corrective and preventive actions. As part of the global Industrial Hygiene community, you will design and deliver training, webinars, tools, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen capabilities and foster the global expert network. Through developing and monitoring relevant program performance indicators, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance and protect employee health. Requirements Master’s degree or PhD in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Hygiene, or a related scientific or technical discipline Significant experience in industrial hygiene, occupational exposure assessment, exposure monitoring, and workplace risk evaluation Strong expertise in chemical exposure control, engineering controls, containment strategies, and health risk management. Experience in pharmaceutical, chemical or API manufacturing environments is highly desirable Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical data and translate findings into practical business recommendations and risk reduction measures effectively Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills with experience working across global and multicultural organizations Proven capability to lead global programs, build networks, and drive compliance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives Willingness to travel internationally up to 20% As part of our commitment to transparency and fairness, salary information will be shared during the recruitment process.
