Job Description: In order to support procurement Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Procurement Performance & Governance Leader - Aerostructures Commodity (d/f/m) The Procurement Performance & Governance Leader acts as the primary analytical engine, strategic advisor, and governance coordinator for the Airpower Aerostructures procurement commodity. Operating as a senior individual contributor, you will support the Commodity Leadership Team by consolidating fragmented operational, financial, and geopolitical data into a single, cohesive performance picture. You will analyze complex variables—ranging from supplier financial health and contractual claims to geopolitical risks and sourcing timelines—to build and update the holistic picture and provide strategic recommendations. Additionally, you will serve as the commodity’s ambassador, supporting alignment on best practices and performance metrics across other procurement commodities. This role is also available with reduced weekly hours and an adapted scope of tasks. Your tasks and responsibilities Performance Synthesis & Executive Decision Support The "Single Source of Truth": Consolidate, analyze, and maintain the holistic performance baseline for the commodity, covering savings pipeline, cost-reduction initiatives, and budget adherence. Executive Storytelling: Translate raw procurement data, supply chain metrics, and financial KPIs into clear presentations, briefings and actionable recommendations for the Commodity Leadership Team. Operating Plan Coordination: Manage the internal operating rhythm of the commodity, coordinating updates to the annual procurement operating plan and tracking internal cost-management targets. Risk & Resilience Intelligence Integrated Risk Register: Continuously monitor and update the commodity's proactive risk ledger, integrating inputs on supplier financial solvency, single-source dependencies, and ITAR/export control friction, etc. Market & Geopolitical Horizon Scanning: Monitor global macro-economic trends, raw material indices, and geopolitical shifts, translating these developments into concrete impact assessments and mitigation strategies for the leadership team. Sourcing & Contractual Governance Milestone & Resource Tracking: Monitor adherence to the master sourcing plan (RFPs, contract awards, transitions). Identify resource bottlenecks or timeline slippages early, proposing resource-reallocation scenarios to leadership. Claims Management Support: Analyze supplier non-conformances and delays and support the compilation of the business cases for industrial claims. Contract Management Support and Procurement Compliance: Act as a focal point to the central Contracts and Compliance team, ensuring contract best practices, latest templates and mandatory flow-down clauses (compliance, sustainability, etc.) are consistently applied. Benchmarking: Conduct systematic benchmarking of contract terms, pricing models, and supplier maturity levels against broader industry standards. Cross-Commodity Alignment & Representation Commodity Ambassador: Represent the commodity in cross-functional and cross-commodity forums to ensure alignment on corporate procurement initiatives, shared supplier strategies, and resource allocation. Best Practice Codification: Active participant in the internal procurement community of practice; capture lessons learned and drive the standardization of tools, dashboards, and governance processes. Desired skills and qualifications This person must possess the quantitative skills to stress-test financial data, the industry context to understand a military eco-system, and the emotional intelligence to influence senior leaders across different commodities without having hierarchical authority. Key Requirements Experience: 6+ years of experience in procurement, management consulting, program management, or business operations—ideally within aerospace, defense, or a similarly complex, highly regulated engineering sector. Analytical Mastery: Advanced capability in data synthesis, financial modeling, and translating complex operational metrics into executive-ready presentations.
