Job description

Position Purpose As an Operational Excellence & Digitalization Engineer, you will help improve the performance of our Bucharest manufacturing site by combining Lean manufacturing principles with digital technologies. You will identify opportunities to simplify and optimize processes, design improved systems and ways of working, implement changes, and monitor their impact. Through continuous improvement projects and digital solutions, you will contribute to improvements in productivity, quality, cost, compliance, and operational visibility. You will join the site’s continuous improvement team and work closely with colleagues across production, quality, engineering, supply chain, IT, and other functions. Key Responsibilities and Duties Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement within manufacturing and supporting processes. Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies such as Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving. Design and implement improved processes, systems, and ways of working. Define appropriate performance indicators and evaluate the impact of process changes through before-and-after analysis. Develop, maintain, and improve Power BI dashboards and automated KPI reports using data from different sources. Transform operational data into practical insights that support timely, fact-based decisions. Support digital manufacturing initiatives involving MES, electronic batch records, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 concepts. Develop or improve analytical models and reporting tools that provide clear operational insights. Strengthen pull systems, flow, standard work, visual management, and performance management practices. Research, test, and implement process improvements while maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that implemented improvements are visible, measurable, sustained, and adopted by the relevant teams. Manage several improvement and digitalization projects in parallel, ensuring appropriate planning, stakeholder alignment, and follow-up. Collaborate with stakeholders at different organizational levels and act as a business partner for department leaders. Qualifications & Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or another relevant technical field. At least five years of overall professional experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Relevant experience in continuous improvement, operational excellence, Lean engineering, or industrial engineering. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent hands-on experience. Good knowledge of Power BI, including developing and maintaining reports from different data sources. Experience automating reports and improving the availability and visibility of operational KPIs. Strong analytical, structured, logical, and critical-thinking skills. A proactive and autonomous approach, with the confidence to challenge existing ways of working constructively. Strong problem-solving and project management skills. Ability to coordinate multiple projects and maintain focus on agreed outcomes. Clear communication and presentation skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams, engineers, managers, and colleagues from different functions. English advanced.
