Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance professional with 3–6 years of relevant experience to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, month-end close activities, financial reporting, payment processing, and operational finance processes. The Finance Analyst will work closely with Finance and business functions to promote accurate reporting, effective budget management, and timely completion of accounting and finance activities. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with local management and headquarters. Proficiency in Korean and English is required for regular headquarters communication. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning & AnalysisSupport monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting activities. Assist with preparation and monitoring of the annual operating budget. Perform variance analysis comparing actual results with budget and forecast. Analyze departmental spending trends and identify potential cost-management opportunities. Maintain financial planning models, forecasting templates, and tracking tools. Support management decision-making through financial analysis and business insights. Assist with special analyses and scenario modeling. Financial ReportingPrepare recurring financial reports and management dashboards. Consolidate financial data from multiple functions and systems. Support preparation of monthly business performance reviews. Help ensure accuracy and consistency of reports distributed to management and headquarters. Assist with management presentations and supporting materials. Accounting & Close SupportSupport month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Prepare journal-entry support schedules, reconciliations, and account analyses. Investigate variances and unusual transactions and coordinate follow-up actions. Assist with audit requests by gathering supporting documentation and responding to inquiries. Support compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures. Accounts Payable & Expense AdministrationReview vendor invoices and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. Coordinate accounts payable processing and payment tracking. Support resolution of vendor issues and payment inquiries. Administer employee expense reimbursement processes in accordance with company policies. Monitor travel and business expenses and provide periodic reporting as required. Headquarters Reporting & CommunicationCoordinate recurring financial reporting requests from Korean headquarters. Prepare reporting packages, schedules, and supporting analyses for headquarters review. Respond to routine inquiries regarding financial performance, spending, and forecasts. Support communication between local operations and headquarters on finance-related matters. Communicate financial information clearly in Korean and English. Business Support & Continuous ImprovementPartner with business functions to collect financial information and improve reporting accuracy. Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve efficiency. Participate in ERP system enhancements, reporting automation, and process-improvement initiatives. Contribute to standardized reporting templates and procedures. Support ad hoc financial and operational tasks as assigned. Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Three to six years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, financial planning, or a related area. Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, or accounting processes. Basic understanding of U.S. GAAP principles and financial statements. Strong analytical, quantitative, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup functions, and financial analysis techniques. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a structured environment. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Fluency in Korean and English, written and verbal. Preferred QualificationsExperience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, or another regulated industry. Experience with an ERP or enterprise financial-reporting system. Experience supporting audits, financial close, and compliance activities. Experience preparing reports or analyses for management or headquarters. Experience in a multinational business environment. CPA, CMA, MBA, or progress toward a relevant professional certification. Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated salary range for this position in Maryland is from $67,237 to $89,650, plus annual bonus when eligible.
