Job description

Procurement & Sustainability Excellence, Data and Systems Specialist Location: Puebla, Mexico. Join Lonza's Procurement & Sustainability Excellence team and play a key role in driving digital transformation, advanced analytics, and process excellence across our global procurement organization. This position offers the opportunity to shape how data, systems, and technology are leveraged to improve decision-making, strengthen sustainability initiatives, and deliver measurable business impact. What you will get: An agile career and dynamic working culture. An inclusive and ethical workplace. Compensation programs that recognize high performance. A variety of benefits dependent on role and location. What you will do: Build the procurement analytics backbone: consolidate and model spend, supplier, contract, savings, and sustainability data; improve data quality, classification, and transparency across systems. Develop advanced analytics solutions: use Python, statistical methods, and predictive modelling for use cases such as spend classification, savings forecasting, supplier-risk scoring, demand/cost-driver forecasting, and anomaly/maverick-spend detection. Deliver actionable insights: create and maintain intuitive dashboards and KPI reporting in Power BI to support procurement leadership, category managers, and site teams in timely, evidence-based decisions. Support sustainable procurement: enable collection, quality assurance, analysis, and reporting of supplier sustainability data, including ESG ratings, certifications, carbon data, and Scope 3–relevant information where required. Drive digital transformation: identify, evaluate, and implement tools and technologies that improve ways of working, including SAP Ariba/SAP S/4HANA capabilities, supplier- and risk-management platforms, automation, AI, and analytics solutions. Increase process efficiency and automation: lead continuous-improvement initiatives that simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, strengthen compliance, and increase adoption of standardized global processes. Manage global transformation projects: lead or support end-to-end projects on procurement systems, supplier/risk platforms, data governance, reporting, process automation, and analytics capabilities. Partner across functions: act as the bridge between Procurement, Sustainability, IT/Data, Finance, and other stakeholders - translating business needs into scalable data, system, and process solutions. Enable governance and adoption: contribute to procurement policies, procedures, training, testing, change management, and user adoption for new systems, data standards, and ways of working. What we are looking for: Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field. Proven experience in data analytics, BI, data science, systems management, procurement excellence, supply chain, or a similar global environment. Strong hands-on expertise in Python, data mining, statistical analysis, and data modelling to turn complex datasets into clear business insights. Experience building dashboards and reporting in Power BI or similar tools. Working knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP BW, ECC, S/4HANA and/or SAP Ariba. Familiarity with databases and data-management tools such as SQL, MS Access, MySQL, or comparable technologies. Understanding of advanced-analytics concepts, including predictive analytics, machine learning, automation, AI/GenAI, and large-scale data processing. Strong project-management, stakeholder-engagement, communication, and change-management skills, with the confidence to influence across functions and geographies. Ability to explain analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences and convert insights into practical, prioritized actions. Knowledge of procurement, Source-to-Pay, supply chain, supplier management, or sustainability reporting is an advantage. Exposure to sustainability platforms and frameworks - such as EcoVadis, IntegrityNext, CDP, GHG Protocol Scope 3, CSRD, or supplier ESG data management - is a plus. Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage. About Lonza At Lonza, our people are our greatest strength.
