Meet the TeamYou will play a key role in ensuring the security of Splunk-based applications by performing structured threat modeling and leveraging AI-powered security tools to identify and mitigate design-level risks. You will work closely with development teams to analyze system components, apply security frameworks, and ensure that security is integrated throughout the application lifecycle. Your ImpactPerform Threat Modeling: Conduct regular threat modeling exercises for Splunk applications to identify potential design flaws and architectural weaknesses. Utilize AI Security Tools: Leverage existing AI-driven security tools to automate the discovery of attack vectors, streamline data flow analysis, and accelerate the identification of common vulnerabilities. Analyze AI Outputs: Interpret findings generated by AI security tools, validate the results, and translate them into actionable security tasks for engineering teams. Support Secure Development: Participate in design reviews for Splunk applications, providing guidance on secure coding principles and threat mitigations based on your analysis. Incident & Risk Tracking: Document identified threats, track the status of remediation efforts, and ensure that security design requirements are met within the development cycle. Collaboration: Partner with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to communicate security risks clearly and provide practical solutions that maintain development velocity. Process Improvement: Stay current on evolving security trends, particularly regarding AI-assisted analysis, and help refine local processes for threat discovery and documentation. Minimum QualificationsBachelors + 3 years of related experience or Masters 2 years of related experience. Working knowledge of application security principles and the Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL). Experience or strong interest in threat modeling frameworks (e.g., STRIDE) and application architecture. Comfortable utilizing automated security scanning or AI-assisted analysis tools to improve security efficiency. Basic understanding of Splunk application architecture and distributed systems. Preferred QualificationsHands-on experience performing threat models for complex software or cloud-based applications. Familiarity with using AI or ML-based security tooling to perform static/dynamic analysis or architectural review. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical reports and prioritize remediation efforts based on risk. Ability to communicate technical security risks to both technical and non-technical team members. Why Cisco?
