The Accountant is responsible for day-to-day, month-end closing, financial reporting, and statutory activities (audits, filings). The role also has a strong emphasis on financial and management cost accounting and providing financial analysis to Management. This position reports to the Finance Manager and is part of the finance team located in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Experience in a manufacturing environment (medical device preferred with hands-on proficiency in standard job costing, variance analysis, product cost tracking, and inventory subledger reconciliation Practical experience managing day-to-day and month end closing activities using financial software and ERP tools. Ability to liaise with and support the Finance Controller in compiling monthly/quarterly reporting packages. Direct involvement in preparing audit documentation, assisting with tax agents, and completing statistical reporting for government and local regulatory bodies. The essential requirements of the job include: Degree in accounting or accounting experience in manufacturing environment with relevant accounting qualification. Must be a self-starter, a “hands-on” individual who enjoys a challenge and is dedicated to getting the job done with minimal support and direction. Solid Excel skills are required as well as high proficiency in standard job costing and variance analysis. Excellent attention to detail, effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. Bonus / Incentive Pay Up to 10% of annual base salary This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay. This is the target earnings as % of base annual salary, subject to objective eligibility criteria and performance conditions as set out in the applicable scheme terms and conditions.
