Work Schedule Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions Office Job Description Proposed role profile - Automation Support Associate Systems Developer Automation Support Experience 1-2 years Primary Focus L1 / L1.5 automation operations, testing and minor enhancements About the Role The Associate Systems Developer supports the day-to-day operation, monitoring, testing and maintenance of business automation solutions built primarily on Microsoft Power Platform and RPA technologies. The role focuses on first-level troubleshooting, documented recovery procedures, testing and production support, while providing opportunities to contribute to low-complexity enhancements under the guidance of experienced developers. Key Responsibilities Monitor scheduled automation jobs and identify failed, terminated or incomplete executions. Perform initial troubleshooting using execution logs, error messages, alerts and approved support procedures. Restart, reprocess or recover automation jobs by following documented Runbooks and validate successful completion. Create, update and track incidents/service requests with clear evidence; escalate issues requiring deeper technical investigation to L2 support. Execute regression testing for application patches, upgrades, migrations and configuration changes; prepare test data and capture evidence. Support BAT/UAT, production deployments, hypercare and post-deployment validation for new or changed automations. Maintain PDDs, SDDs, Runbooks, known-error records and troubleshooting documentation. Perform routine maintenance, minor configuration changes and low-complexity automation enhancements. Develop or modify basic Power Automate workflows and Power Apps components; work with SharePoint, Dataverse and SQL as required. Use existing APIs/connectors according to solution specifications and support basic Power Automate Desktop or Blue Prism activities where applicable. Identify recurring failures and improvement opportunities and work with L2 developers to improve automation stability. Participate in scheduled support rotations and communicate clearly with business, application and technical teams during incidents. Required Skills 1-2 years of relevant experience in RPA, automation development, application support or software development. Working knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate and exposure to Power Apps, SharePoint, Dataverse and SQL. Basic understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, programming/scripting and relational databases. Ability to interpret logs and troubleshoot routine automation failures using structured procedures. Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities, follow defined procedures and work independently on routine issues. Exposure to ServiceNow or another incident/change management platform is desirable. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Role Outcome Reliably operate and support the automation estate at L1/L1.5, resolving routine issues without unnecessary developer intervention and building the technical capability to progress into L2 engineering.
