Location: GBR - CC Hatfield Adm, GBR - CC MiltonKeynes, GBR - CC Nottingham | Job-ID: 220569 | Contract type: Standard | Business Unit: Information Technology Life on the team You will provide senior subject matter expertise across Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM), translating governance and standards into effective day-to-day control. Working under the SACM Lead, you will guide analysts, own complex operational activities and improve the quality, compliance and value of asset and configuration data. Hatifeld or Nottingham or Milton Keynes based Must be SC Cleared, or willingness to undertake What you'll do Operational ownership: coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of hardware and software assets and oversee complex SACM activities. CMDB assurance: monitor data quality, completeness and control compliance, driving corrective action where standards are not met. Governance and audit: support policy implementation, risk mitigation, internal and external audits, and evidence production. Insight and reporting: analyse inventory, usage, compliance and financial data to identify risk, cost optimisation and service improvements. Process improvement: develop and embed SACM processes, controls, standards and automation aligned with agreed best practice. Tooling and integration: act as a senior SME for SACM tooling and CMDB processes, supporting testing, integrations and service transition. Stakeholder support: provide data-led input to budgeting, forecasting, procurement, vendor discussions and technical decision-making. Team guidance: coach SACM Analysts, review outputs and provide practical direction, escalating strategic or policy decisions to the SACM Lead. What you'll need At least three years’ experience in IT Asset Management, SACM, Configuration Management or a closely related discipline. Strong practical understanding of asset lifecycles, CMDB governance, data quality controls and service management processes. Experience of IT service management and asset tools such as ServiceNow, Remedy or Snow. Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends and produce clear operational, compliance and financial reporting. Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to challenge constructively. Ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and provide guidance to less experienced colleagues. Advanced Excel skills; Power BI knowledge is desirable. Ability to obtain or maintain the required UK Government Security Clearance. Desirable qualifications and experience ITIL 4 or relevant ServiceNow certification. Managed service, regulated environment or complex enterprise CMDB experience. Evidence of process improvement, automation, service transition or tooling integration delivery.
