Job description

## Join our Team About this opportunity: We are looking for a Product Manager to turn user needs, research and strategic priorities into clear, outcome-focused Epics that are ready for quarterly planning and investment decisions. You will establish a consistent approach to product discovery and Epic readiness for the SSP product portfolio. This includes facilitating discovery, documenting end-to-end user journeys, translating evidence into concise Epic briefs and maintaining traceability from user problems to delivery outcomes and post-delivery learning. You will work closely with a Senior Product Manager, technical Product Owners, Solution Architects, User Research and Experience, Analytics, Delivery and other stakeholders. The role is suited to someone who combines user-centred discovery, clear product writing and strong product operations, while remaining focused on user and business outcomes rather than prescribing technical solutions. What you will do: • Lead discovery intake by clarifying business questions, target users, decisions required and expected outcomes. • Plan and facilitate interviews, workshops and journey-mapping sessions with research and stakeholder teams. • Document user personas, needs, key tasks, pain points, handoffs, opportunities and desired outcomes. • Create current- and future-state user journeys, linking them to evidence, confidence levels and open questions. • Translate validated journeys into Epic briefs covering the problem, purpose, expected outcomes, scope boundaries, success measures and initial acceptance assumptions. • Own the Epic register, intake triage, backlog quality, ageing, decision records and readiness tracking. • Coordinate input from Experience, Analytics, Architecture, Delivery and dependency or risk owners without taking responsibility for technical solution design. • Facilitate regular Epic readiness reviews and escalate decisions related to value, priority, scope, risk or cross-team ownership. • Prepare the candidate Epic pipeline ahead of quarterly planning and coordinate the required pre-planning materials. • Maintain traceability from user problems and desired outcomes through Epics, features, stories and post-planning insights. • Partner with senior product and technical stakeholders to support prioritisation and investment decisions. The skills you bring: • 8–10 years of experience in Product Management, Product Discovery, Service Design or user-centred Product Development. • Experience leading discovery for complex enterprise, platform or SaaS products. • Strong skills in user-journey mapping, service design and synthesising research and other evidence. • The ability to write concise problem statements, outcomes, success measures, scope boundaries and acceptance assumptions. • Practical experience with Agile delivery, quarterly or Planning Increment (PI) planning, backlog governance and readiness criteria. • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Confluence, including dashboards, traceability and decision records. • The ability to collaborate effectively with senior architects and technical Product Owners while remaining focused on user and business needs. • Excellent written communication, stakeholder-management and constructive challenge skills. • A sound understanding of User Experience principles and the ability to work effectively with design teams. • The ability to independently lead discovery and Epic readiness while partnering with senior product leaders on strategic priorities. • Experience or certification in Design Thinking, Service Design, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, PSPO or CSPO is beneficial.
